The Awakening Soap Company Handcrafted Soaps

April 18, 2010 by Classystaff

Located in Abilene, Texas, The Awakening Soap Company was created by Lana McCutchen. This is a mission minded soap company that was born out of the need use her talents for the glory of God. The Awakening Soap Company supports 2 charities with the profits raised from the sales. The company makes Goats Milk soaps with pure essential oils as scenting agents and natural additives used for exfoliants. There are 19 different oils listed, but she can find others for custom orders.

The exfoliants are –

-Ground Blueberry Seeds {medium scrubby}
-Rolled Oats {soft scrubby}
-Ground Apricot Shells {medium scrubby to scrubtastic}
-Ground Lavender {soft scrubby}
-Ground Rosemary {soft scrubby}
-Tapioca Pearls {medium scrubby with massage like qualitites}
-Lemongrass {soft scrubby}

I like that there is a choice as some people have allergies or are sensitive to smells. I love that you can customize the soap as well. Lana has many different molds and 2 different sizes to choose from so you can create something fantastic or choose from the ones that are in the Store.

I was lucky to be able to receive the product for this review. Lana sent me the handcrafted Fleur de Lis Goats Milk soap , scented with a light Lemongrass essential oil. The soap also included Lemongrass as an exfoliant. The packaging was detailed and beautiful. When I opened the box, the soap was nestled in a bed of shred. This soap was Beautiful!! I did not even want to use it. But I had to!

The soap fit nicely in my hand. It was not too big or too small. What was nice about this soap was that the bottom section was the exfoliant side but if you want just plain soap, then you can flip the soap over to the Fluer de Lis side for the creamy goat’s milk alone. The soap was nice and creamy. My skin felt great after using the product. I loved the finish it gave my skin.

The scent was very, very light. In fact, it almost seemed unscented but there was a light hint of lemon. I liked that. I use other lotions that are scented so overly scented soap is not necessary for me. Plus too much scent gives me a headache. So perfect for me. My son even liked it. I know that you or a loved one that you gifted it to would love this product as well!

I would personally like to thank Lana for allowing me to do a product review for him and for sponsoring our giveaway. I love the detail you give your product and your mission is awesome too!

Chris Carroll has personally reviewed this product. I have not been compensated in any way for my product review and was supplied free product as listed for my review so that I could inspect and use the product in a real setting. My thoughts, opinion and review are solely mine. Your thoughts and experience may be different.
