When it comes to a house makeover, the bathroom is always put in the back burner. There’s something simply daunting about tackling it. The cost, the time, and the energy one has to expend for a bathroom remodelling do not seem worth it. After all, it’s not one of the living spaces in a house.

But even if it’s not the case, a family spend considerable time in there and they might as well make their hygienic experience a whole lot better. A bathroom makeover does not need to spell a gigantic task ahead or skyrocketing costs. It can actually be done with a few awesome mom tricks to help transform your bathroom into a beautiful yet functional space.

Add Vanity Lights

There’s nothing like creative light fixtures to make your bathroom more elegant. Lights, strategically placed around the vanity area, can give your bathroom a fresh look without causing you an arm and a leg. Try to choose your lighting fixture properly so that it agrees with the space’s color palette.

Complement the Color Scheme

For a bathroom that seems disjointed, wherein one color in different shades give off the impression of a hodgepodge space, it can be very challenging to create a sense of unity. But there’s no need for a complete overhaul of things that are permanently installed, like the toilet, tub, and ceramic sink. Instead, go for white towels and rugs that can complement the rest of the bathroom fixtures. The same can be applied to other colors.

Coat the Walls with Fresh Paint

There’s nothing like a new coat of paint to transform the look of your bathroom space. It’s easy to do and you have a myriad of colors to choose from. You can opt for neutral hues that are cool to the eyes or choose vivid shades that can brighten up the place. Painting is also budget-friendly so it’s ideal to spice up your mini makeover.

Save Precious Space

If money is an issue and you’re working on a tight budget, you won’t be able to expand your bathroom to create more space. But you can be efficient by opting for vanity and cabinets that can save space. You can have open shelves that can work as both a storage space and decor. Shower walls can be torn down too as it will open up more space and make your bathroom look bigger than it is. Or you can invest on bathroom fixtures that will free up more room. It can be in the form of high quality saniflo toilets or slim vanity cabinet.. The latter has one type of toilet that comes in a single piece construction, self-contained, and can fit into spaces that would not normally accommodate standard toilets.

Transform with Accessories

Accessories can add character to your bathroom. Putting dramatic light fixtures, open shelves, and accent walls can turn it into a gorgeous place but so can something as simple as hooks or baskets for towels, a potted plant, and pretty bottles for your shampoos and other bath essentials. You can also give your mirror an upgrade by framing it. It can only take you a trip to the hardware store to get your materials like the molding and corner blocks. Framed mirrors will give your space the classic, vintage feel.

Spruce Up the Floor

Overtime, tiled floors can get old and dirty, especially with constant use. Re-grouting your ceramic tiles can go a long way to change the way they look. There are materials that can seal your existing grouts or freshen it with colors. For a less difficult way in dealing with the bathroom floor, you can always put rugs in as they don’t only prevent slips and falls but also serve as a pretty accent to the space.

While as a mom you have a lot on your plate, what with primary responsibilities as mother, wife and, and career woman, these tricks can help you get the bathroom makeover job done. You only need to be resourceful, patient, and dedicated as you make plans and put them into action. By making your bathroom more appealing and spacious, you’re turning hygiene into a more pleasant experience for you and your family.
