Natural Hair-Care Products from The Grandpa Soap Company

Natural Hair-Care Products from The Grandpa Soap CompanyBeauty products have never seemed particularly exciting to me, but I am over the moon about the soaps and hair care products from The Grandpa Soap Company. I love this stuff! I especially love the way my hair looks and feels after using Grandpa Soap’s shampoos and conditioners. I’m ready to turn over a new leaf and toss my store-brand products. Yes, Grandpa Soap shampoos, conditioners, and soaps are that good!

* Complimentary Products Received for Review.

First, I tried the Witch Hazel line of soap, shampoo, and conditioner. It smells lovely, with a pretty, light fragrance. The shampoo’s lather is so thick and rich that I only need a fraction of the amount of shampoo I used with my former brand. Both the shampoo and the conditioner rinsed out quickly and thoroughly, leaving my hair soft, shiny and easy to brush even when wet, making my hair look and feel better than it has since I began going grey. The Buttermilk products also did not disappoint, with results as good as the Witch Hazel. My favorite duo, however, is the Rosemary Shampoo and Rose Clay Conditioner; the scent is lovely, and the results are amazing—smooth, shiny, tangle-free hair that feels great.

Even my husband likes the Grandpa Soap products. Although he shaves his head, he’s been using the Buttermilk conditioner on his beard, which is noticeably softer. He also likes the Pine Tar soap, with its more masculine scent and ability to get his hands really clean, although it’s gentle enough for everyday face and body use, too.

Grandpa (Jess Hoffman) started making his Wonder Pine Tar Soap in 1878, and it has been manufactured continuously since then. The company has gone through many changes over the years, and it’s been family owned and operated since 1936. This, from their mission statement, says it all: “Times have changed but our commitment to bring you the highest quality personal care products remains.”

Grandpa Soap’s new line of natural hair care products has something for every type of hair. Here’s the breakdown:

• Witch Hazel Shampoo and Conditioner for all hair types: Designed to “Clarify,” it “Removes environmental buildup and oil residue”
• Buttermilk Shampoo and Conditioner for dry, damaged hair: “Nourish” is the promise here; “Helps revitalize dry, damaged and color-treated hair”
• Rosemary Shampoo and Rose Clay Conditioner for all hair types: The key word for this pair is “Purify;” it “Refreshes and restores balance”
• Pine Tar Shampoo and Conditioner for all hair types: As “Scalp Therapy,” this duo is formulated to ease dry, itchy scalp

All of Grandpa Soap products are made in the USA. They’re cruelty-free and all-natural, and many utilize organic ingredients. In fact, you can find an A-to-Z listing of all of their ingredients and what they’re for at the Grandpa Soap website —it doesn’t get more open and honest than that! The packaging, too, now utilizes sustainable materials.

While you’re at their website, check out the “Where to Buy” section to find local and national retailers in your state. There’s also a listing of online sources.
