Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies Recipe

When it comes to baking…homemade chocolate brownies and chocolate chip cookies are two of my favorites to make. My husband likes to take the treats into work and my granddaughter will take them to her Girl Scout’s meetings. What’s left…I get to consume!

When I make Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies (one of Gia’s favorites), I typically make them entirely from scratch. However, a few weeks ago I was really pressed for time and used what I call a “cheater” recipe. Here’s how I made them.

Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies Recipe

1 box of Chocolate Brownie Mix
1 roll of Chocolate Chip Refrigerated Cookie Dough
Ingredients needed to make the brownie mix
Non-stick Baking Spray

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

I prepared my 10″ by 10″ square baking dish by lightly spraying it with nonstick baking spray.

Allow the refrigerated cookie dough to sit out on the counter for 10-15 minutes while mixing up the brownie mix in a large mixing bowl. You’ll want to add-in the ingredients that are called for on the box.

Cut the refrigerated cookie dough into 1 tablespoon chunks and lay them on a plate. Pour the prepared brownie batter into your baking dish. Use a tablespoon to drop the refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough into the brownie mixture. See my photograph for reference.

Bake the mixture in the oven according to the box directions. Since I added the cookie dough to the recipe, I did have to add on about 4-5 minutes of additional baking time. Once done, remove from the oven and let cool. Once they’re cool, cut into blocks and store in an airtight container. That’s it…super-easy and the best of both worlds!!!

if taking a shortcut like this helps make a great baked good that’s wonderful. I usually find that IU have to add extra cocoa or unsweetened chocolate to the recipe

Hey, there isnt anything wrong with doing a little tie saving! I think this looks good and it is like getting a two in one. This would go together quick and easy, more time to spend outside, or doing other things!

  3. Sugar overload! In a very good way. What a clever way to quickly make these.

  4. This was a little bit of genius! Two things, each of which would be okay on its own, but when you put them together–wow! I’d dig into that, for sure. Now I might have to get some chocolate chip cookie dough to have on hand, just in case.

  5. These are a perfect, quick afternoon treat! My family would love these! Adding this to my to-make list! Thanks for sharing!

Oh this has got to be the best of both worlds. I am making this with the girls. Thank you for the idea and recipe.

  10. This is one of my favorite ways to make brownies. I always have homemade chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie dough on hand and it works really well!
