Bleu Paw Pet Waste Scooper for Cleaner Cleanup

Bleu Paw Pet Waste ScooperWe have two great dogs, Otis and Maverick, and we love them like crazy. What I don’t love is cleaning up after them. If you have dogs, you know what I’m talking about—bending over to pick up their waste in a plastic bag while trying to keep your hands as far away from it as possible, then carrying a poop-filled bag around with you until you find a trash can. Not fun, not sanitary, but totally necessary.

Bleu Paw to the rescue! The Bleu Paw pet waste scooper not only keeps your hands away from the mess, but it also keeps itself away from it, too. How, you ask? The shaft of the Bleu Paw scooper has a sticky roller on it. You put a plastic bag over the scooping mechanism and stick the bag to the roller, then scoop the poop. After that, it’s a simple matter to detach the bag from the roller and, while keeping the scoop closed, pull the bag off the scoop, then open the scoop, remove the bag with its icky contents, and tie it closed.

The nastiness is inside the plastic bag at all times and doesn’t touch anything else. Since the plastic bag is over the working end of the Bleu Paw scoop, the scoop itself doesn’t get soiled because it’s never in direct contact with the poop. And it really works! There’s even a locking latch on the Bleu Paw handle, so you can secure the sealed bag inside the scoop for hands-free transport to a trash can. In addition, the attached carabiner clip can be used to attach the Bleu Paw scooper to a leash, backpack, stroller, or belt, so it’s easy to bring it with you pretty much anywhere.

If you’ve read this far, I’m guessing you have dogs, too, and you’re interested in a cleaner way to pick up after them. Check out the Kickstarter campaign for the Bleu Paw scooper. While you’re there, take a little time to watch the video of the Bleu Paw in action to see how it works. Between now and October 15, you can support the creators of this inventive new product and get a Bleu Paw scoop with a supply of biodegradable bags for yourself for as little as $10.

Bleu Paw Pet Waste Scooper

I’ve used other pooper scoopers, and I find that the Bleu Paw has a lot of thoughtful features that set it apart. For me, the best part is not only that my hands stay clean but that the scoop does, too, saving me from the pretty gross task of washing a dirty scooper. Measuring in at about a foot long, the Bleu Paw’s compact size does mean that I have to bend over to use it, but that’s a small tradeoff for the convenience of being able to carry it with me and my doggies on walks or to toss it in the back of the car. And like I said, it works!

I think that this is a great idea for a pet waste scooper. I love that you don’t have the problem of cleaning the scooper.

  2. Dave spielman says:

I love this idea glad to see a product where you can use regular plastic bags. I think its a perfect size I am already bending down using my hands (ick) to pickup the poop so this is a vast improvement.

  3. This is definitely an awesome design. I love the colour and handy. Too long would make it too bulky for me to carry. I like convenience for sure. Have looking fir this kind of scooper for so long and I m glad to see it coming now. It comes with great price too.

  4. This looks like a good design. While I don’t have a dog right now, my kids do so this would be good for them on their walks.

  5. I really like the idea of this. I hate walking around with a baggie of poo when we take the dog out. Our dog thinks pooing everywhere he can is just the mos fun thing he can do. It would be nice if this was a bit longer though.

  6. I so love the idea of this scooper and I would really like to have one but I would want the reach a lot longer.

  7. For me this is just too short. I like the concept, but I need a longer reach.
