Sheet Pan Salmon with Crispy Kale Recipe

We all know to avoid certain foods (looking at you, sugar) to keep our teeth clean and healthy. But did you know that there are certain foods that you should be eating to make your teeth stronger?

Caitlin Grimes, D.D.S., of StoneCreek Dental Care in Alabama, has compiled a quick and easy recipe that will help keep your teeth strong, vibrant and healthy for years to come (when combined with proper brushing and flossing, of course)!

Salmon is one of the best foods for your teeth — it’s high in Vitamin D, which aids your body in the absorption of calcium. Kale, like spinach, is another dark, leafy green with calcium and folic acid. Did you know that folic acid can help treat periodontitis (gum disease) in pregnant women? As an added bonus, this one-pan dish makes for easy clean-up!

This looks like a delicious recipe. Is the kale mixture supposed to go on the hot baking sheet with the salmon to cook a little bit? I know my family would enjoy this recipe.

  2. The Dijon mustard sauce sounds like it would be a good fit with the kale. We have salmon quite often and always like to give different recipes a try.

I really love salmon in any orm. Here the best way to get it is in the freezer aisle in the filet form. They had a nice sale on it last week and I bought a number of them. I have to admit to not being a kale fan in this form. I will drink a kale with other flavors drink but no clue why kale just doesnt sit well. I love the fish though!

  6. I am puzzled by this recipe. I think that #2 and #3 are reversed? Toss the kale in the dressing, then spread it on the pan and put the salmon on top and bake. Yes, or no?

  7. I have many cans of wild-caught canned salmon in the cupboard if I can’t make it fresh. I do what I can for my bones and know that helps my teeth as well. I avoid sugar so don’t mind leaving out the honey in this recipe. I’m more into savory than sweet anyway and this looks like a great recipe.

  8. I love salmon and just realized that I have not had it in way too long. This recipe sounds so good and super easy which I really like. I had no idea that salmon and kale were good for your teeth thank you for sharing this great recipe and helpful information. I am going to try to make this recipe soon.
