My Thoughts: School’s out for summer and my grandchildren will be spending a lot of time at my home during the next 3 months. As a grandparent, I feel it’s important to give our children/grandchildren educational activities to do throughout the summer to keep them learning & their brains functioning. I’m one of those who don’t believe in parking children in front of the TV all day long or handing them a video game to play for hours. Nope, that doesn’t go on at my house!

This dot-to-dot activity book is fantastic! Your child will complete the dot-to-dot puzzle, then color it in. On each page they will learn some fun facts along the way. For example on page 55…it features a picture of a duck. At the top of the page it says “Garett the goose honks when pleased, he is one who loves to be teased” and at the bottom of the page it says “A car honks and so does a _________. Your child needs to fill in the blank (answers are in the back of the book) which gets them thinking.

On page 21 is a dot-to-dot puzzle featuring a photo of a monkey. At the top of the page it says “Murphy the monkey has a very long tail. How he got it, is a tale” and at the bottom of the page it says “Monkeys have tails but apes do not”. In that case, it teaches your child a fun animal fact.

I love this book! It’s a great activity book for my 8 year old granddaughter and my 5 year old godson to work on when spending time at my home. If you’re doing any traveling this summer, this would be a great activity book to take along too!
