A couple of months ago we took both of our grandchildren to Lake Tobias Wildlife Park in Halifax Pennsylvania. This particular park is about a 40 minute drive from our home and we make a point to visit it every year.

The park is a combination safari park, zoo and children’s petting zoo. As an adult, I love getting on their safari jeep and going out into the fields and woods to see all of their beautiful animals! You actually feel that you are on an African safari, but your here in the USA.

My grandchildren LOVE the petting zoo because they can get hands-on with the animals. They love to feed and pet them, especially the goats and the baby deer.

Like most animal parks…they do have your typical zoo area where you can walk around and see animals in their enclosures and on exhibit. I like visiting the big cats and the primates. My husband enjoys visiting the reptiles, but I admit, I don’t go near the snakes, so he always takes pictures of those for me. Ewww!

If you’re ever passing through Pennsylvania, make sure you check out and visit the Lake Tobias Wildlife Park in Halifax. It’s a really cool zoo and happens to be one of our favorite’s to visit on the east coast.

Yep, I feel the same way about snakes, ha! I would just steer clear of them. But the rest of the animals would be a lot of fun to see.

  4. Looks like a neat place to take your grandkids. I haven’t been to our zoo in a long time.
