Shopping at the Williams Grove Flea Market

Williams Grove Flea Market in South Central PennsylvaniaHow many of you enjoy shopping at local flea markets in your area? What about at flea markets when you travel? We have one located in south central Pennsylvania called the Williams Grove Flea Market and it attracts hundreds of visitors every Sunday. Plus, when they host special events, you’ll find larger crowds that swell into the thousands!

The Williams Grove Flea Market has been around for years and shortly after my husband and I got married (over 30 years ago) we started going. We don’t get there as often as we would like, but we do try to get over there 4-5 times every year.

Admission into the flea market is free, as well as free parking. You’ll find row after row of new items, gently use items and antiques up and down the aisles. If you’re looking for a bargain, you can usually find it here. I’ve often purchased furniture for my home, items for my garden and toys for the grandchildren from the flea market!

Oh and here’s a tip: The early bird gets the worm. In other words, if you want the best stuff at the best price, arrive early in the morning, before everything get’s picked over.

After you’ve spent some time shopping, you can visit their mobile-truck food court area. Every time we go they have numerous food vendor trucks lined up where you can purchase something to eat, drink or a tasty snack. My family LOVES getting a smoothie and/or soft-serve ice cream when we visit.

Located on the same property is the Williams Grove Railroad where you can pay an admission and go on a train ride. The train is complete with an old steam engine and a red caboose! We took our granddaughter last summer on a train ride and she absolutely loved it. We’re hoping to take both of the grandchildren this year!

I have not been to a flea market in a couple of years, but I always enjoyed it when I went to one. Now my son lives near Philadelphia , so many I can convince him to drive to this flea market.

When I was a child I remember going to alot of Flea markets with my Dad and mY uncle. I loved going to them, so much was always going on and so much to look at. Then when I got married we went several times with Dad again. My small town has a special 3 days in Sept called Harvest days. There is a Big Flea Market and a carnival and contests and singing and food every where. People come from all over . The last day is a big parade that goes through town. We also have the Bassette Hound Wobble, people bring their Bassette Hounds from all over and they all walk down the center of town.. 🙂

I love shopping around at Flea Markets. I can spend hours roaming. There used to be one in the Poconos years ago. I would go with my parents/family.

  5. I haven’t gone to the flea market since I lived in Fort Collins CO in the 90s. They had a good one there but now in an apartment, I just don’t have the space for picking up the great flea market finds. I do love to look though and will have to find a friend that does too. I’ve seen a few advertised down south LA, so it would be a weekend drive some afternoon, but well-worth it for a fun time.

  6. I haven’t been to a flea market in years. I seem to have enough stuff. When I shop it’s usually at thrift stores.

We really like going to fea markets and such. We used to go much more than we currently do because we have bought so much over the years! I like flea markets because you can find things you wont find anywhere else. And the food vendors are usually awfully good.
