2 Quart Sauce Pan by Hammer Stahl

For this foodie feature I received a complimentary 2-Quart Stainless Steel Sauce Pan with Cover from Hammer Stahl to try out for all of you. If you’re unfamiliar with Hammer Stahl, they’re one of the oldest manufacturers of cookware in North America. They really know how to make great stainless steel cookware and bakeware that will last you for years and it will perform like a dream! It’s safe for gas stovetops, electric and for induction cooktops too!

Hammer Stahl cookware uses 7 different layers of metal in its construction. The 7 layers of metal in Hammer Stahl cookware’s construction are used throughout, not just on the base. This means that the aluminum core distributes heat evenly throughout the base and sides, creating a cooking vessel that is less prone to burning and heats more efficiently.

One of the things that really impressed me with this cookware was the metal handle. Due to it’s shape and design, smaller-handed people like me can easily use & control this pan! The handle is a combination of multiple machined parts, creating a hollow handle that will stay much cooler than a solid metal handle. I think it’s important to mention that the handle is firmly attached to the side of the pan and I don’t see how that could ever, and I mean EVER come off.

I have a glass-top range and I was worried about the pan sliding around on my cook-top surface. However, I’m very happy to report that it stayed put and I had no issues with it sliding around as I was stirring things up while cooking. I experienced even heating, no burning/scorching and I was really impressed with it’s natural non-stick properties.

The cover that comes with the stainless steel sauce pan is just as fantastic as the pan! The handle on the top is perfectly shaped for my little hands to grasp it and I am really impressed that the handle is firmly attached to the cover with metal attachments.

In the photograph above I’m cooking rice in my new pan. In the past, rice was difficult to cook as it loved to stick to the sides and bottom of the pan as it cook’s down. However, with this stainless steel sauce pan, I had no issues with my rice sticking to the pan or clumping together. Great pan for cooking up your rice!

Everything about this sauce pan speaks QUALITY! This is not a throw-away piece of cookware that is destroyed in a few months. This type of cookware is meant to last you for years, if not your entire lifetime with proper use and care. I would describe it as a “weighty” piece of cookware, but not too heavy to whereas you don’t want to use. The construction is well-balanced and clean-up is a breeze.

Hammer Stahl Essentials Stainless Steel Cleanser

Looking for the best stainless steel cleaner? You’ll want to pick up their Essentials Stainless Steel Powder Cleaner. My new stainless steel pan isn’t dirty yet, but I can tell you that I’ve used the powder cleaner on the pan and it shines it up…just like new! I also used it on another pan that I own and it shined that one up too. Nice!

I like stainless steel pans but I have never tried this brand Hammer Stahl. It seems to be an excellent manufacturer. I like your chili recipe with the added mushrooms.

  2. I threw out my Teflon coated pans and now only use stainless steel. I didn’t know they made a cleaner for it. I’ve never tried this brand but 2 quart is the perfect size.
I love any recipe with beans in it too. They are healthy and inexpensive, which you can’t say about too many foods these days!

  3. Just had chili for dinner last night and it is certainly a favorite for my family. I like to make enough to have leftovers. This does look like a quality pan especially being able to cook rice without having it stick to the bottom. I hate having that bottom layer of rice stuck to the pan.
