The Cancer Fighting Diet Book with 150 Recipes

The past 8 weeks have been pretty rough for my family. My mother, aunt and cousin have all three been diagnosed with various type’s of cancer. Since their diagnoses, the entire family has been doing everything that we can to educate ourselves, so that we can help to support them.

Recently I received a very helpful book from Robert Rose (one of my favorite book publishers) and I’m excited to tell you about it today.

The Cancer Fighting Diet Book with 150 Recipes

Title: The Cancer Fighting Diet
Authors: Dr. Johannes F. Coy and Maren Franz
Publisher: Robert Rose
ISBN: 978-0-7788-0508-3

Book Synopsis: Imagine there was a way you could actively support your cancer treatment. Imagine there was a book that could not only give you basic information about the disease, but also provide detailed advice and a diet plan that would help you fight, and significantly increase your chances of winning your personal battle against cancer. That book is now a reality.

Inside, you’ll learn about the TKTL1 cancer metabolism and why carbohydrates can fuel cancer cells. Then, you’ll discover how you can deprive them of this food and help make radiation and chemotherapy more effective. You’ll find out why significantly reducing your carbohydrate intake and making sensible, easy-to-follow lifestyle changes are the right strategy after treatment to ensure continued good health.

My Thoughts: This book is fantastic! It gives you a lot of important details including information about cancer, changes in lifestyle, how to switch over to healthy eating and the 150 recipes that are included are fabulous! It’s broken down into 4 easy to read parts:

Part 1 – Cancer Basics and Strategies for Healing
Part 2 – The Principles of the Cancer-Fighting Diet and Lifestyle
Part 3 – The Healthy Cancer-Fighting Kitchen
Part 4 – Recipes: Breakfast, Lunches, Dinners, Snacks & Desserts

All three of my family members have finished up with their required surgeries and are under-going their treatments together. Over the past 2 weeks I’ve been sharing information with them and trying out several of the recipes in the book. I’m a designated care-giver helper, so I’ve been trying to prepare 2-3 of the recipes weekly and delivering the yummies to them.

As a former healthcare worker, I can personally tell you that a healthy diet is crucial when it comes to fighting any type of disease. I think the recipes in this book are perfect for anyone (regardless of their current health status) to make. As you go through the book you’ll learn a LOT and you’ll feel more confident in preparing healthy meals for yourself and your loved ones.

Thank you Robert Rose for this fantastic book! You can visit the company’s website to learn more about this book and many more that the publisher has to offer.

I too like the Robert Rose books and have many of his cookbooks. It is great that there is a cookbook to show cancer fighters which foods are good for them.

I would really like to educate myself on what a cancer fighting diet looks like. The older I gt the more I seem to worry about that dreaded disease.

I am wishing your family members all of the best in their treatments ! My husband has a very rare cancer (so far only 1 of 23 cases known) and has went through surgery and radiation (lots of radiation) I had read too about carbs and fighting cancer. Before he started his radiation he purposely gained almost 20 pounds due to where the radiation was to take place. It was mostly through protein shakes.
I think this would be an interesting book for those who have cancer, or who are care givers. Really a good book for anyone.
