Amish Horse and Buggy in Lancaster County

We used to live in Lancaster County during the late 1980’s and wow…has it changed over the years! When we lived there…it was a tourist destination, but it has grown 90% more since then! It’s a really nice area to live in or to visit.

One thing that I love to look for when we’re visiting is those beautiful Amish Horse & Buggy’s. While many people think that you’ll only see them in the countryside, that’s only partly true! You’ll also see them in the city and the suburbs too! Take a look at my photo…that’s a buggy sitting right beside a tractor trailer at a red light!

When we lived there year’s ago…we would of never seen a buggy sitting beside a tractor trailer at a major intersection. Wow…things sure have changed! Anyway, just wanted to give you a “small glimpse” of a Amish Buggy and over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing some additional photos & information with you about one of our recent trips to Lancaster county.

I brought my daughter for a get away when she was about 6 months pregant with her 1st child. We stayed at really cool old factory hotel in Lancaster and did all sorts of fun things. It really is a nice area.

  3. This is a place that I would love to visit since it seems so different and unique than anything else I have ever experienced. I recall being fascinated by stories about the Amish when I was in school.

I’d love to see Lancaster County. We do have a fairly good-sized Amish community here in KY & I love going to their stores. They have cheeses, handmade furniture, jams, etc. I love that.

  5. The folks still live in the house I grew up in, smack dab in Amish country, where they still have lots of horse and buggies. I’ve not lived there in Ohio/Indiana since the late 80s either, but I’d love to visit the Amish tourist attractions in PA. Looking forward to those pics that will no doubt take me back.

  6. I would so love to visit this area I love the Amish Horse & Buggy’s. I would also love to see their quilts I bet they are amazing.
