Gateway Theater for Movies in Gettysburg

Recently we had the opportunity to spend some time at the Gateway Gettysburg WYNDHAM Hotel and it was a wonderful experience. The property offers guests plenty of free parking and it’s situated in a large property complex that houses the Courtyard Marriott Gettysburg, the Gateway Theater, the Appalachian Brewing Company and their on-site 1863 restaurant too. They’re perfect for business travelers, romantic weekend getaways, family vacations and corporate events.

As soon as you walk through the doors and into the lobby, you’ll immediately realize that you’re going to have a great time. The lobby is luxurious and spaceous with plenty of seating area for guests to sit down & relax. Plus, you’ll be greeted by friendly staff and a quick & easy check-in. If you ask Sam, the best part of the lobby is the huge cannon which is on display for all of the hotel guests to see.

Once we were all checked in, we headed up to our guest room. One of the things I really appreciated about this hotel is that they have 3 elevators that give you a very smooth ride from floor to floor. In addition, we never waited more than 2 minutes for an elevator to arrive, so going up & down was super-quick.

Our guest room was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean! There wasn’t any type of dirt, dust, a fuzz ball, lint or hair anywhere in our room. IMMACULATE as can be! Our room had a super comfortable bed with extra pillows, a comfy reading/sitting chair, a desk, complimentary coffee maker, a flat panel TV (with premium channels) and the bathroom was super clean too! The decor was very presidential in-nature and luxurious.

Right off the lobby they have a heated indoor swimming pool and hot tub. It’s really nice to go out during the day to tour the Gettysburg Battlefield & visit the other area attractions & then come back to the hotel to relax in the swimming pool & hot tub. You’ll find a very clean pool area with plenty of clean towels for the guests to use.

Not far from the pool area you’ll find their in-house fitness center. You can go into the fitness center 24 hours a day and get your workout in. Since I’m still recovering from surgery, I skipped the workout but did watch Sam get his workout in. If your picky about public fitness centers, you have nothing to worry about with this one, it’s very clean and smells great. You don’t smell any stinky workout odors. I mention this because we travel a LOT and sometimes hotel’s have dirty & foul smelling fitness centers. I can assure you, that’s NOT the case with the Gettysburg Wyndham!

Another cool thing about this hotel is that when you walk through the hallways and through the downstairs lobby area, you’ll see stunning Civil War related artwork hanging on the walls. If you love beautiful artwork or enjoy the Civil War, I think you’ll appreciate viewing all of the gorgeous artwork that hotel guests can view.

We had a wonderful time during our hosted stay at the Gateway Gettysburg Wyndham Hotel and trust me, when we’re looking to stay overnight in Gettysburg again, we’ll definitely be booking our rooms at the Gettysburg Wyndham Hotel.

I love the Gettysburg relics and paintings inside the hotel. The swimming pool and hot tub would be so wonderful for me to use, perhaps the fitness room too. THis looks like a good place to stay.

  2. The swimming pool and hot tub look amazing and like a great place to either relax or have fun with the kids and/or grandkids. That is quite the cannon in the lobby. A way to experience history at the same time as a vacation.

OK, I don’t kid myself that I would go near the workout equipment, lol, but I’ve always wanted to see Gettysburg. This looks like a great place to stay.
