How many of you are fans of the hit TV show Quarry which is aired on Cinemax? If so, I’ve got some great news today for all of the Quarry fans! Quarry ~ The Complete First Season will be available for purchase on DVD and Bluray starting on February 14th, 2017. Mark your calendars now!
Season 1 of the “wildly entertaining” (TV Guide) Cinemax® series Quarry, loosely based on the novels of Max Allan Collins set in and around Memphis, is set to make its home entertainment debut on February 14, 2017. Starring Logan Marshall-Green as Mac Conway, this “impressively flawless” (Washington Post) series follows two soldiers’ return home from a second tour of duty in Vietnam.
Set in and around Memphis during the early 1970s, Quarry is a thrilling action drama that centers on the character of Mac Conway, a Marine who returns home from a second tour of duty in Vietnam. With his relationship with his wife Joni growing tenuous, Mac finds himself tempted by a lucrative offer from The Broker, a shady criminal involved in a network of killing and corruption that spans the length of the Mississippi River. After a series of events, Mac – whom The Broker codenames “Quarry” – finds himself conscripted against his better judgment into The Broker’s crew, a turn of events that has dire consequences for both himself and Joni. Gripping and “startlingly good” (Yahoo! TV), with action packed storytelling, the first season of Quarry promises to not disappoint.
Other cast members include: Nikki Amuka-Bird (“Luther”) as Ruth, a hardworking mother who is Joni’s close friend; Damon Herriman (“Justified”) as Buddy; Edoardo Ballerini as Karl, and Mustafa Shakir as Moses, three of The Broker’s most capable and ruthless henchmen; Jamie Hector as Arthur, Ruth’s husband and Mac’s best friend, who is also a Vietnam vet; Ann Dowd as Naomi, Buddy’s doting but unconventional mother; Skipp Sudduth as Lloyd, Mac’s father; Josh Randall as Detective Tommy Olsen, a dedicated member of the Memphis Police Department; and Kurt Yaeger as Suggs, who has fallen within The Broker’s sights.
My Thoughts: We don’t have Cinemax, but I’ve heard all about this TV show from my brother. Since I love action and drama shows & movies, I was highly interested in checking out this TV series for myself. Last weekend, my husband and I sat down and watched all but two of the episodes from season one. Trust me, next weekend we’ll be finishing up watching the remaining two episodes.
Quarry is a jam-packed action and drama TV show that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. The story lines are entertaining, complicated and most of the time unpredictable on how it all shakes out. The acting is fantastic and I don’t think they could of gotten better actors & actresses to play these particular parts. I found myself “binge watching” the show as it’s that good and I couldn’t wait for the next episode to begin. If I could afford to add Cinemax onto our TV package, I would…just for this show alone!

I don’t get that channel, but my younger son has it. I shall ask him if he has watched the show. I do like that the story lines are complicated and unpredictable.
I dont get that channel so havent seen any of it. I have read the book though and that was quite good. I wonder how close it is? I might have to check and see if I can find this and watch it. I also like the actors in this!
