When the temperature drops, a whole host of issues affect me, from dry skin and brittle hair to dry lips. My lips especially need tons of extra attention during these colder, dryer months. I’m always on the lookout for great products that make my lips feel great, look good and keep them healthy and soft. Enter FACE atelier’s Lip Rx, which is a luxurious, tinted remedy for sore, chapped lips.

I’ve been using the FACE atelier Lip Rx for a week or so and love the way it not only soothes, but also moisturizes my lips, while protecting them from the elements. It is full of anti-oxidants and provides organic ultra-violet protection (which is important all year round).
This is a really versatile product—it contains a unique blend of essential oils and vitamins to repair and protect the lips and can also increase the wearability of other color lip products too. My favorite thing about Lip RX is that it comes in tinted shades as well, for a sheer pop of color that other lip remedies just don’t offer. I received the Lip Rx in Sahara, but it also is available in Prim Rose as well as Naked (clear). The Sahara shade is very light peachy shade, but still gave me some color, which this pale girl definitely needs!
Lip Rx is a go to product for locking in moisture and preventing future damage to lips. Some of the key ingredients in this product are:
– Meadowfoam Seed Oil – this oil has excellent anti-oxidant properties and skin softening benefits.
– Sesame Seed Oil – the Vitamin E contained in sesame seed oil acts as excellent antioxidant and is useful as natural UV protection. It also slows down the affects of skin aging and prevents the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
– Shea Butter – this is also a wonderful antioxidant and has aging benefits as well. Shea butter contains five essential fatty acids, (a major amount coming from stearic and oleic acids), phytosterols, Vitamins E and D, allantoin (good for healing skin irritations), and Vitamin A. This combination of ingredients helps neutralize free radical damage, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and fading age spots. It also it contains natural sunscreen in the form of cinnamic acid.
– Allantoin – This is a healing, moisturizing, anti-irritating agent.

Face Ateliers Lip Rx sound just perfect for my Dry Lips. With its unique blend of essential oils and vitamins & containing Shea Butter it has to be Great! Love Shea Butter. I have a few tins of African Shea nut butter that I use religiously to keep my lips moist. Problem is, it isn’t colored and I’d love something tinted like this. Right now it’s a two step process but always have to get that soothing product on first. I usually prefer pinks but this peachy shade is lovely. The Prim Rose shade would be a good choice for me.
