Acai Berry Smoothie Recipe

A few years ago my mother introduced me to homemade smoothies and frozen fruit drinks. At the time, I was blowing a lot of cash at local smoothie bars & gourmet coffee shops buying their icy-cold treats, instead of making them myself. I had always thought it would be too hard or too time consuming, until my mother taught me how to make them. I now make them at home (all by myself) and I enjoy experimenting with new flavor combinations.

The Acai Berry Smoothie Recipe that we’re featuring today is courtesy of Nielsen-Massey. It will make 2 servings…one for me and one for mom! One tip that my mother taught me: smoothies are best served immediately and in a chilled beverage cup!

Nielsen-Massey’s Acai Berry Smoothie is a healthy way to begin your day in a way that supports your body and mind. Blended with Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract, super-fruits such as blueberries, blackberries and antioxidant-rich acai berry puree, and rich and creamy probiotic Greek yogurt, this smoothie provides the perfect energy boost to strengthen your focus and get your morning off to a great start.

I love making my own smoothies so that I can control the amount of sugar in them. Do you buy acai berry puree at the supermarket? I love using fresh berries to make the drinks.

this looks so good… I have been drinking some powder acai and really love………. But I have never found or saw acai berry puree. but I can take your receipe with different fruit

  3. I’m always looking for a new smoothie recipe to try out! I love that you used cinnamon in this, yum! 🙂

  4. Most places where you purchase smoothies put in way too much sugar for me. People would be surprised at how much sugar adds to the calories and non-nutritive value of the healthy smoothie. I like the tartness of yogurt and love how thick Greek yogurt is–it’s the perfect smoothie ingredient. I like their chocolate extract and will have to try Nielsen-Massey’s vanilla extract too.
