It’s getting chilly! CedarLane is here to make bundling up by the fire a little easier with a hot and ready meal. From Eggplant Parmesan to Three Layer Enchilada Pie, there are enough varieties to keep you satisfied every night of the week. Each entree can be heated up in about 5 minutes, meaning you can have a meal ready to eat in about the amount of time it takes to order a Pumpkin Spice Latte!
Each full meal is less than 400 calories and made from natural ingredients, so you can feel good about what you’re eating. Plus, out of the TEN vegetarian meals, FIVE of them are gluten-free!
For this foodie feature we received one of the Eggplant Parmesan and one of the Garden Vegetable Lasagna entrees to try out for all of you. Now that holiday season has kicked into gear and our schedules are jam-packed with activities, I was pretty happy to have these ready-to-go meals in my freezer.
When it comes to preparation, they can be prepared in the microwave or a conventional oven. So that we could really “test them” out, we prepared one in the conventional oven and one in the microwave. I have to admit, both preparation methods were fantastic. The one that we placed in the microwave took less than 5 minutes to prepare. The one we placed in the oven took around 20 minutes.
One thing that immediately impressed us was that the cheese was thoroughly melted and wasn’t rubbery at all. Sometimes cheese can get rubbery when you melt it in a microwave, not so with these entrees! Next, both had a really nice texture & consistency to them and they both cooked evenly and entirely the way through. Make sure you follow the package directions to yield the best results.
Finally, let’s talk about taste. We both thought they were very flavorful and both tasted just as good as homemade. While I admit they aren’t the absolute BEST that I’ve had, they were pretty darn good! Each entree filled us up and was very satisfying to our taste buds. We give these two entrees a big thumbs up!
