Children’s Book: Little Elliot, Big Fun

Little Elliot, Big Fun Children's BookAs you all know, I’m a grandmother to a 7 1/2 year old little girl and an “almost” 1 year old little boy. Every time my grandchildren come to visit me, we hold regular play dates which includes: book reading, movie watching, playing games, making crafts and all sorts of other things. I absolutely love spending quality time with the kids!

Over the years I’ve built each of them a nice library of books. Even though Prince is only a year old, he’s quite used to sitting on my lap and letting me read a book to him. He loves pointing to pictures in the book and I’m looking forward to the day that he can read a book to me!

Recently we received a complimentary copy of the newly released book (available for purchase today) titled: Little Elliot, Big Fun by author Mike Curato to review for all of you. ISBN: 978-0-8050-9827-3.

Little Elliot, Big Fun Children's Book

Book Synopsis: Little Elliot and Mouse go to the amusement park to see the sights and ride the rides ~ water chutes, roller coasters, carousels and more. But Elliot isn’t having much fun. The rides are too wet, too fast, too dizzy, and just plain too scary…until his friend figures out a way to help Elliot overcome his fears. Together, Mouse and Little Elliot can do anything!

My Thoughts: This is a really nice hardcover book for the young kids in your life. The illustrations (pictures) are colorful and adorable! The story line is entertaining and for the older children it’s an easy read for them. I think it’s a great book for those who are learning to read and for those with some experience in reading too. Children love visiting amusement parks and while some kids aren’t afraid of the rides, other kids are. Who would ever think that a mouse and an elephant could be best friends? Cool! I think it’s great that Mouse helps Elliot to overcome his fear of amusement park rides and the best part of all is that Elliot trusted Mouse with that help. Best friends are some of the best things in life. I love everything about this book…from it’s illustrations to it’s entertaining story line. It’s a wonderful addition to my grandchildren’s library.
