Wheat and Gluten Free Bagels

BFree Gluten Free FoodsMy mother is 68 years old and lives with us on a part-time basis. A few years ago she started having a slew of GI issues and after seeing a specialist, he told her that she needed to go gluten-free. Since that time, she has went to a 90% gluten-free diet.

Since she’s at our home all of the time, it’s my job to make sure that gluten-free products are coming into my home. Instead of buying two different items (one for us and one for her), we decided to add gluten-free products to our own nutritional diets.

Gluten and Wheat Free Bagels

Recently we were introduced to a new company in the United States called BFree who makes gluten free breads, rolls, pita breads, bagels and wraps. All of their products are low-calorie, high-fiber and low-fat, plus they have the same consistency and taste as conventional wheat breads.

The entire BFree line is free of wheat, dairy, eggs, nut and soy, meaning that all products are gluten-free, allergen-friendly and completely vegan! So, if you have a special diet or just want to eat better-for-you foods, try out the products from BFree.

For this review we received 4 bags of gluten and wheat free bagels from BFree Foods. One really cool thing about these products is that if you’re not going to use them up right away, the company recommends that you freeze them. I admit, I did that and they thawed out perfectly when I needed them.

BFree Gluten-Free Bagels

* Plain Bagels – Wheat and gluten free, egg free, non GMO, no sugar added, dairy free and vegan. Each serving contains 200 calories with 5g of fiber.

* Multiseed Bagels – Wheat and gluten free, egg free, non GMO, no sugar added, dairy free and vegan. Each serving contains 200 calories, high in fiber and with only 2g of sugar.

I’m a plain bagel type of gal, so I immediately gravitated towards them. I love plain bagels because I can top them with whatever I want, which is usually honey butter. However, I do like to top them with cream cheese, fruit jam or a fruit syrup from time to time too. I absolutely loved the plain bagels from BFree which had a really nice taste and texture to them.

My mom and husband preferred the multiseed bagels and loved how flavorful they were. They would pop them into the toaster and then top them with their favorite toppings. My mother keeps it simple with just one topping but hubby really likes to load it on. In addition, he was toasting up the bagels and using them to make egg sandwiches.

You can learn more about BFree Foods by visiting their site online. Right now their products are in limited states but they’re expanding quickly across the nation. Check out their website to find out which stores currently carry their products.

I love Bagels and have tried them gluten free and they are so delicious! WOW! Your Mom is still young. My Dad is 85 and has to be on a strict diabetic diet. I take care of him. He has dementia. But I want to try these bagels. They sound yummy.

These BFree bagels sound delicious I would prbably top them with cream cheese, but I also like your husband’s idea of toasting them and making them into an egg sandwich.

These sound great! I’ve seen gluten-free bread everywhere, but this is the first time I’ve seen gluten-free bagels. I have to check this out, because we do go through a lot of bagels here. Especially my mom – at her age (87) she has so many digestive issues, I am slowly but surely switching her over, and these would help her a lot. Good to know they freeze well, too!
