Mothers Day Infographic

I love infographics as I’m very much so a visual person. How many of you prefer to receive a store bought gift or a handmade gift for Mother’s Day? What’s your favorite gift that you’ve ever received? Would you prefer a store bought card or a handmade card?

For myself…I received a Mother’s/Grandmother’s ring 3 years ago and I absolutely treasure it! Now that I have a new grandson, we will have to upgrade my ring, so that we can include his birthstone in it too. I love sentimental gifts like that and yes…I prefer handmade greeting cards! I particularly think e-greeting cards totally stink!

My daughter is now a mother of two adorable children and she has a beautiful locket necklace with her children’s photographs inside. She wears it all of the time and told me that next to her wedding rings…it’s her favorite piece of jewelry.

I too prefer homemade cards, and I still have some homemade gifts from my sons 30 years later. I enjoyed reading this infographic. I wish I could spend Mother’s Day with my entire family, but that is not possible this year.

I’ll get judgementa,l too. Moms have actutally thwon away a handmade gift from their child “because it was ugly”? Who does that? If it’s “ugly”, put it in a drawer, put it in the closet – but don’t throw it away. That’s stabbing your child in heart. Wha kind of “Mom” does that??? It’s disgusting!

OK, I’m about to get all judgemental here, lol. The 7% of Moms who threw away a handmade gift because they thought it was ugly are horrible, lol. I made some really crappy stuff as a kid (a necklace made of paperclips wrapped in strips of contact paper!! Made in vacation Bible school.) My Mom actually wore that mess!

I like homemade cards (no e-cards for me either) I like photo books.

I love sentimental gifts. Photos of my grandkids just make it extra special. While you can’t keep everything, it warms your heart and makes your day getting something from them. I’m visual, too, and this is a great infographic. Easy to understand and interesting information. It’s true that Mother’s Day is about family. I am spending it with my husband and daughter. Of course, I do enjoy going out to eat and we will. We will go out during the week for Mother’s Day when it is less full.
