From Oscar®-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, Moneyball) and Oscar®-winning director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours), Steve Jobs is an up-close-and-personal look at the founder of Apple, a remarkable creative genius whose vow to put computers in the hands of ordinary people changed the world. A “must-see, one-of-a-kind that cannot be ignored” according to Indiewire’s Anne Thompson.

Witness the founder of Apple like never before. Steve Jobs paints an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at the epicenter of the digital revolution, backstage in the final minutes before three iconic product launches. Directed by Academy Award® winner Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire), written by Academy Award® winner Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) and starring Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen and Jeff Daniels. Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds, 12 Years a Slave) stars as the enigmatic Jobs, headlining an accomplished cast that includes Academy Award®-winner Kate Winslet (The Reader, Titanic), Seth Rogen (Neighbors, This is the End) and Jeff Daniels (“The Newsroom,” The Martian) in an unexpected and enthralling film that led Peter Travers of Rolling Stone to declare, “Steve Jobs is a triumph.”

Hubby’s Thoughts: My husband has always admired Steve Jobs and was pretty excited when this DVD arrived. Personally, it’s not my type of film but I knew he would enjoy watching it. On top of that, Kate Winslet has been one of his favorite actresses since he saw her work in Titanic years ago.

Hubby stated that the film really covered Steve Job’s brilliant career very well. He loved seeing how he acted before, during and after new product launches and how he got excited about each & every one of them. He said that the film also touched upon Steve’s family life, life with his friends and of course with co-workers and business associates.

Overall, he felt the film was pretty accurate and that the actors & actresses did a great job at portraying the characters that they were playing. The only thing he felt that could of been better was more of his “personal life” thrown into the mix. He rates the film a 7 out of 10 stars on our rating scale.

  1. I havent seen the movie but have seen it reviewed several times. I think this is a movie I would wait for DVD like you all did to see it. I have always wondered how different it would have been if it had been made when he was alive . Some have kind words others not so much. I would love to see what his personal life was like, He was an interesting man.

  2. Jo-Ann Brightman says

This sounds like an interesting movie, especially for anyone interested in the life of Steve Jobs. It certainly has good actors.

  3. (Movie Review: Steve Jobs) Guess I am going to have to watch this movie now, it does not sound too bad. I was kind of wondering about it somewhat.

  4. Thank you for this review I was curious about this movie. I saw the one with Ashton Kutcher and it was terrible. So I wasn’t sure if I would even bother with this one but now I think I will check it out. The cast sure sounds a lot better.

  5. Please thank your hubby for his review. My spouse, too, will want to see this movie. He’s been involved with Apple on many different levels since its inception, and he’s a big fan of Aaron Sorkin as well. (In fact, I’m typing this on my MacBook Pro–we’re an all-Apple family.)
