Vermont Maple Syrup and Buttermilk Pancake Mix from Hidden Springs Maple

Hidden Springs Maple SyrupHidden Springs Maple is a family maple farm located in Putney, Vermont where the family started making maple syrup over 50 years ago. The farm store, maple syrup packing facility and on-line order fulfillment are all located in a large post & beam barn in Putney, VT. The company is committed to supporting Vermont family farms and they work hard to bring the very best natural and organic Vermont Maple Syrup directly to you.

For this review, I received several different products to try out for you and I’m excited to tell you about them today. Here’s what I received:

1 pkg. Organic Buttermilk Pancake Mix
1/2 pint Organic Vermont Maple Syrup – Amber Color
1/2 pint Organic Vermont Maple Syrup – Dark Color
3.4 oz. bottle Vermont Maple Syrup – Golden Color
3.4 oz. bottle Vermont Maple Syrup – Dark Color
3/4 oz. bottle Vermont Maple Syrup – Amber Color

Buttermilk Pancakes

Let’s start with the Organic Buttermilk Pancake Mix which is absolutely fantastic! Each package contains approximately 15 servings and you simply mix together 2 cups of the pancake mix with 1 3/4 cups cold water, 1 egg and 1 tbsp. oil. Pour the batter onto a hot griddle and when the sides of the pancake begin to bubble, flip them over and continue until they are lightly golden brown. We made these organic buttermilk pancakes and oh my goodness…they are so good! They are light, fluffy and packed with flavor. You will seriously have a hard time eating just one, so I suggest making several at a time! Even though this is a pancake mix, don’t be afraid to use it as a waffle mix too!

We are huge French toast, pancake and waffle eaters here in our home and at least three times a week, we have one or the other for breakfast. With that said, we go through a lot of maple syrup!

Vermont Maple Syrup

The Vermont Maple Syrup in the golden color is what I call a “light” syrup with a delicate taste. The Vermont Maple Syrup in the amber color is what I like to call a “rich” syrup that is really full of flavor. The Vermont Maple Syrup in the dark color has a robust taste. All three of these are Grade A Vermont Maple Syrups! They are all delicious and I would seriously buy and use all three…but if I had to choose one of them as my favorite it would be the golden color with the delicate taste. My husband preferred the dark color and my mother & daughter chose the amber.

The two bigger bottles that I received for the review contain Organic Vermont Maple Syrup with one being in the amber color and the other one being in the dark color. Personally, I couldn’t really tell a difference between the natural and the organic syrups and they tasted as equally as delicious as the previous ones. The Hidden Springs Organic Maple Syrup is certified as organic by Vermont Organic Farmers, which is the certification agency of Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont. These syrups are for the people who insist upon the best the organic industry has to offer. Super delicious!

Scrapple with Maple Syrup

If your a fan of fried scrapple like my husband…you’ve got to try one of these Vermont Maple Syrups along with it. My husband loves homemade scrapple and has been raving about this maple syrup all week long!

I had always heard raving reviews from fellow foodies about how good the maple syrup from Vermont was and now I can personally tell you that I agree with that 100%. Every product that I received for this review was top notch and when I need more maple syrup, you bet…I’ll be ordering mine from Hidden Springs Maple!
