CHRISTMAS COOKIES: Dozens of Classic Yuletide Treats for the Whole Family

Christmas Cookies CookbookI look forward to the holiday season for many reasons—cozying up to the fireplace with my family, holiday parties, get-togethers with friends, sparkling lights on Christmas trees and of course, holiday baking! I have very fond memories growing up and making Christmas cookies with my mom and my grandma. It just doesn’t feel like Christmas without days of cookie making and a kitchen filled with delicious treats. I have my regular recipes I always make, but each year I search for a few new recipes to try out.

Luckily, I was asked to review a cookbook that is full of wonderful recipes. CHRISTMAS COOKIES: Dozens of Classic Yuletide Treats for the Whole Family by Monika Romer is a newly released hardcover book that will bring out the holiday spirit (and holiday sweet tooth) for sure.

Baking during the holidays is a ritual for some and others may be thinking of starting a new tradition. This cookbook contains a variety of simple, yet enjoyable cookie recipes for bakers of all levels. There are many festive and fantastic sections in this cookbook including Colorful Cookies, International Specialties, and Cut-Out Cookies and Icing Drizzles to name a few. There is even a section on baking with children, which is ideal for baking with your little ones when they are out of school during their holiday breaks. My son is starting to bake with me and help out a lot in the kitchen. We are planning to try out the Oatmeal Cookie recipe and even aspiring to whip and construct up a Gingerbread House. Some of the other recipes featured in this cookbook include:

• Cinnamon Vanilla Stars
• Coconut Truffles
• Linzer Cookies
• Christmas Fortune Cookies

The Christmas Cookies cookbook features full color photographs by a renowned food stylist and pastry chef, which make this book just as addicting as the cookie recipes inside. I can think of so many different people that would love to receive this type of book as a gift. It would be perfect for the holiday hostess or the newly married couple who is just starting to create new traditions and memories.

If you are in the mood to cook up some holiday cheer, be sure to put this book on your list (and check it twice). Christmas Cookies: Dozens of Classic Yuletide Treats for the Whole family is available as a hardcover book and sells for $17.99.  You can find this title and thousands of other great books at SkyHorse Publishing.
