Holiday Baking with Corningware

Holiday Gift Guide for 2015We just finished up a Pre-Thanksgiving Party and Christmas & New Year’s Day is just around the corner. The next few weeks will fly by fast and many of us will be busy cooking up holiday meals and entertaining our family & friends.

It’s important that when you are preparing your everyday meals and holiday meals that you have the right tools for the job. For me, this means having bakeware that performs perfectly for whatever I may be making.

Corningware has been manufacturing beautiful high-quality bakeware and products since 1958. They are recognized around the world as being a premium kitchen company who’s products we can all afford.

Corningware French White Pie Plate

Recently I received the French White 9″ Round Pie Plate to review for all of you. This pie plate is made out of stoneware and I love the clean look of the French White pattern. It will go in any kitchen and work with any holiday motif that you have going on. It goes straight from the oven to the table with ease.

For our Pre-Thanksgiving Party…I decided to make my grandma’s old-fashioned apple pie recipe. Every year my grandmother would make a pumpkin pie and an apple pie for Thanksgiving dessert. In her honor, I always make both pies for our holiday dessert.

When I make apple pies…I use my own homemade apple pie filling that I canned during the early Fall season. You can simply use store bought pie filling and store bought pie crust or make your own homemade pie crust if your not pressed for time. Either way, this pie plate will work for you!

Instead of making a double crust pie…I made a puzzle top like my grandmother used to make. She always ripped her top crust up into pieces and just laid them across the top of her pie which allows it to automatically vent. She always called it a “Puzzle Top” Apple Pie.

I baked my pie at 350 degrees like I normally do and then removed it from the oven for cooling. I was immediately impressed at how evening my pie had browned. Once it came to serving time…I was even more impressed at how evenly it had baked & how easily it removed from the pie plate.

Corningware French White 9-in Pie Plate

I own a LOT of Corningware pieces and it’s one of my preferred kitchen brands. I got my very first piece of Corningware at my bridal shower 30 years ago and have loved the brand ever since!

I have always like Corningware , but have never tried the ceramic pie plate. 9″ would be the diameter width of the bottom, but what is the diameter across the top and the depth?

  2. I just saw that pie plate on Corningware’s Facebook page one day last week. Love it! Love the way your puzzle-top apple pie looks, too. I’ve been putting up a lot of spiced apples, too, for pies and crisps all next year. It’s been a great year for apples around here!

  3. I don’t own many dishes but always reach for my Corningware. I know it won’t break and it’s easy to clean. The french white ramekins are my faves to use since I like small portions.

  4. I love my Corningware!! I received a set for a wedding gift and I use it all the time! It is definitely a great gift for newlyweds!
