Tantalize Your Taste Buds with Torchbearer Sauces

Torchbearer Sauces Product LineExperimentation is a great thing, especially to TorchBearer founders Vid, Ben and Tim. Vid and Ben had a lot of habanero peppers in their garden, and they hated to see them go to waste. So one day they decided to create a habanero preserve. They were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the preserve tasted, so they decided to share with family and friends. Some days later, Vid, Ben and Tim drove from Pennsylvania to Texas back to Pennsylvania (over 72 hours) and picked 666 pounds of habanero peppers. They spent two weeks of chopping, bagging and freezing so they had enough for the winter months.

Armed with temporary labels and their first full batch of sauce, the guys arrived at the Cajun Hot Sauce festival in Louisiana and won three nation awards. Since that festival, TorchBearer Sauces have won many other awards and now have a very successful company selling condiments, hot sauces and tasty recipes to go with them. They’ve also created the world’s first habenaro cheesecake!

Torchbearer Sauces combine the perfect blend of carrot, mandarin orange, onion, garlic, habanero, tomatoes and spices to send your taste buds on an amazing ride. Oh My Garlic! Sauce: If you love garlic, you’ll love this sauce with the delicious flavor of garlic, lime and a hint of Dijon mustard. This sauce is perfect for: pizza, chicken, pasta sauce…everything!

Smokey Horseradish Sauce: If you like Horseradish, then this is the sauce for you. It is spicy and smoke with a strong horseradish kick. This sauce blends a locally made fresh horseradish with garlic, chipotle pepper with a dash of habanero. Watch out this horse has a kick, but it also has the flavor that will make it your new favorite sauce. This sauce is perfect for: roast beef sandwiches, brisket, oysters/seafood, Bloody Mary.

Carolina BBQ Sauce: This vinegarette style BBQ sauce is great for use as a marinade for meat or vegetables. This sauce is perfect for: pizza, salads, subs, marinating.

Sara’s Thoughts:

Out of the three sauces, my favorite, by far, is the “Oh My Garlic!” sauce. In just a couple of weeks, I am already half-way through the bottle. I’ve used it as a dipping sauce for my cheese pizza when Derek and I ordered Papa John’s (it is better than Papa John’s garlic sauce). I’ve also used it when Derek and I made pasta one night for dinner. Cheese-stuffed tortellini with garlic sauce and Texas toast…yes please! I’ve also used it as a dipping sauce for the chicken that my Dad made this past weekend for the Penn State game against Northwestern. It really is the perfect sauce for everything!

Derek’s favorite, out of the three sauces tasted, is the Smokey horseradish sauce. Derek loves spicy foods, and jumped on the opportunity to try this sauce. Earlier this week, Derek made ham steaks. He grew up putting straight up horseradish on his ham steaks, a habit he picked up from his parents. The smoke horseradish sauce was a great alternative when he realized he ran out of regular horseradish. He made me stop on my way home from work just to pick it up. I’m looking forward to making roast beef sandwiches this week for work, and will use the sauce as a topping instead of my thousand island dressing that I’m used to.

I love to include salads in my meal, whether it’s a salad for lunch or as a side dish for dinner. The Carolina BBQ sauce was a great alternative to my usual ranch dressing. The sauce is a vinegarette style sauce, so it’s better to use as a topping or for marinating. This week, Derek and I will be making chicken and plan to marinate the chicken in the BBQ sauce.

Overall, I am very happy with these three sauces from Torchbearers and you will be too! Looking for a new recipe to try? Check out Torchbearer Sauces recipe listing here. Torchbearer has something for everyone, so check them out today!Sara Tag
