Television vs Streaming

I am not sure if it is just my house, but we are watching less and less traditional television shows. There are just a few that I watch here and there, not even on a regular basis either. I can go for a month or more without watching television! Hubby watches westerns and some shows on the Discovery channel. And the son, I cannot even tell you the last show he watched.

Television vs Streaming

Now it seems that more and more people are watching movies and shows online via streaming, and getting themselves the best streaming vpn possible to ensure that their content runs smoothly (as well as potentially enable them to access content they might otherwise not be able to due to geographical restrictions). Streaming is a great idea in that you can power watch a show, get caught up on back episodes, and watch new shows or movies too. Plus using services like NetFlix or Dish Network and the like, you can literally watch anything anywhere.

The cost difference is huge too! I pay so much for cable television that it’s ridiculous. I keep it because hubby does enjoy his old movie channels but in reality, it is just not worth the expense. However, there are some cable companies that offer cable alongside internet connection, which does make things worthwhile. If you click here, you would see the latest cable tv statistics to see just how many people still use cable TV as a result of this kind of deal being introduced. It still could be worth checking out more streaming services to see how I can cut out the cable – it’s always worth a look. I know that you can watch through units like XBox, which is what my son does. I think it will be worth checking it out and finding options. A lot of the new smart TV’s come with online access, which is very cool!

So what is your thoughts on Television vs Streaming? Do you even watch live TV anymore, in the traditional method? Do you have a favorite streaming service or any favorite programs that you enjoy watching?

  1. I am a streamer myself, I no longer watch TV in the traditional method. streaming is just so much more convenient.

I find that I need the sound of the TV, lol. I actually watch every so often, like if a news story comes on that interests me. It’s likely to be on a news channel or a music channel (the ones without videos, just music–like listening to the radio, lol.) But I am used to the SOUND in the background!

  4. I don’t own a TV and I’m not into watching. I had TV and cable about 10 years ago and don’t miss it.

After reading this I notice I was watching less TV. I have it playing in the background while on the computer but not watching it.I just like the sound

  6. This is very timely for me as I am tired of the high cost of cable and have started looking at other options. I am not very tech savvy so it feels scary but am tired of paying for what I don’t use.

We are watching less tv also. My husband says too many reruns on the shows he likes plus the commercials are getting longer and closer together. Hence we got an online program which shows a huge assortment of shows, movies etc. Hardly no commercials is there is only 30 seconds long. Much better. My husband is not well so he watches a lot of movies and shows and plays games on his laptop whuile he is resting. Much Happier now..

  8. I am watching less and less television. I can not even handle the commercials anymore it is ridiculous and some of the commercials are really offensive these days. I love to rent movies and series and power watch them with NO commercials woohoo! I will have to check out streaming and other options too.
