Since I am an occasional user of coupons, I use a wallet type coupon organizer that can fit into my purse. This is perfect for filing 5-6 different types of coupons and I keep my active ones in there. That way when I hit the store, I have everything I need. Keep a separate one for gift cards and restaurant discounts too! You will always have them on hand when you need them!

Many coupons users set up a zipped binder filled with baseball card protective sleeves that will store your coupons. These are great for organizing a ton of coupons and they will be at your fingertips when you are in the store.

For downloadable coupons that are found online, I usually wait until before I go shopping to see what is available. Some of the coupons I know I will use, I print and file. Others that are maybes, I wait to see what is on my shopping list and then I download what I need. Since I am not a stockpile shopper, this works well for me.

Ibotta and other coupon sites available on mobile apps, I check before I go shopping as well. It is not worth it for me to download them early and shop at random times – well, unless it is a hot deal!

An optional method for big coupon clippers is a filing box where everything is sorted into files and then you can go through it before shopping and pull out what you need.

I don’t need them for fresh veggies and fruit, which is what I buy now the most. I also love the Kroger coupons you can load on your card. I did coupons big time for several years, lol. It really did help our bottom line, saving $30-40 dollars during each grocery visit, usually. I kept them in a big wallet designed to organize coupons by subject/item. I also loved places like Kroger that let you download coupons directly onto your store savings card!

I am not a big coupon user anymore since the kids left home and I find I buy so much less at the store. But I used to use an envelope for food coupons and a different color one for non edible coupons. I would organize the coupons according to the way the items at the store were placed so as I walked through the store the coupons were in order in the envelope. I always wanted a divided plastic envelope but never ended up with one!
