The extraordinary new novel by the #1 New York Times–bestselling author of The Collector.

Shelby Foxworth lost her husband. Then she lost her illusions …

The man who took her from Tennessee to an exclusive Philadelphia suburb left her in crippling debt. He was an adulterer and a liar, and when Shelby tracks down his safe-deposit box, she finds multiple IDs. The man she loved wasn’t just dead. He never really existed.

Shelby takes her three-year-old daughter and heads south to seek comfort in her hometown, where she meets someone new: Griff Lott, a successful contractor. But her husband had secrets she has yet to discover. Even in this small town, surrounded by loved ones, danger is closer than she knows—and threatens Griff, as well. And an attempted murder is only the beginning …

My ThoughtsNora Roberts has the story telling gift and it shows up in full glory in this interesting tale of deceit, lies, scandal, mystery and romance. This story starts off with a bang and never lets up. You are taken for a ride through the life of Shelby, who at a tender young age has to figure out how to deal with a dead husband, a small child and mountains of debt.

I love the way that Nora tells her story. With a nod to the south and all of that southern charm, you get plenty of conversation with friends and family and even a few “Bless Your Heart’s” too! I fell in love with her characters, especially Griff. I think she created the perfect man! He is sweet, heartwarming and a bit of a bad ass too. The perfect match for the feisty “Red”.

If you are a Nora Roberts fan, you have to get your hands on a copy of this new release. I know it will be come a favorite read that you will indulge in not once, but several times over. For me, that is a typical occurrence! Once is not enough!
