6 Home Hacks to Try Out This Weekend

Get motivated to keep an area organized by making a change you’re happy about. Paint your closet, add a new rug to your bathroom, put a new fixture up in your kitchen, add a skylight to your bathroom (like the ones at custom skylights in Sydney), etc. You’ll want to keep the integrity of your updated space.

1. Get rid of cardboard boxes. They attract roaches! Break them down and ditch them after moving day. Plastic bugs from the grocery store attracts bugs due to the food smells & spillage. Dispose of them, don’t keep them around.

2. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect, but there should be a place for everything. You may even have a junk drawer or two, which is fine! So long as your junk drawers don’t continue to expand and then prevent you from finding necessities when you need them, don’t sweat it.

3. How do you know if you’re organized? You’re organized if you can prep for unexpected company in under thirty minutes.

4. Label and organize your photos and other keepsakes. Your kids will be happy when they get older that they can understand the significance of items you’ve kept through the years.

5. There’s no need to throw out your kid’s artwork! The Li’l Davinci art cabinet displays your favorite drawing and then keeps fifty more pieces of artwork inside.

6. Use the same hangers in your closet. Not only will they look nicer, but your clothing will be easier to find because everything will be at the same height and spaced out perfectly.

Why organize? You’ll have more time to be spontaneous and have fun!

  3. Such great ideas! We’ve slowly been trying to organize more, but I really need to start labeling everything. And I love the hangers tip… my hangers are pretty uniform but my husband’s aren’t. Time to change that! 😉

  4. Yes my junk drawer is bothering me and should be cleaned out! I don’t know why all the broken things land there, but they do. It’s called junk for a reason, lol. Must purge it soon.

  6. I’ve been tackling organizing, but a little at a time. I get to a certain point, then run into a dead end, as not sure what to do next. Once it is done, I love it! Still a ways to go, though!!! Good hacks!
