The Hubby is Turning the Big 5-0

Number Fifty Party Shows Happiness And Celebrations by Stuart Miles freedigitalphotos
It is party time at our home this weekend. A momentous occasion to be sure. Hubby is turning the Big 5-0 and he is not overly amused! I remember that day not so long ago and how he teased me when all I wanted to do was bury my head in the sand and pretend to forget… Now payback shall be dealt! HAHA

In all honesty, I am planning a nice get together this weekend and since the weather is going to be amazing, we will be grilling out, having some fun and even a swim if folks want to. Easy and casual will be the ticket. I do not want to work hard so I can enjoy the fun too!

Keeping it simple is easy with just some burgers, salads, and other low carb munchies. I have not finalized the menu because I still have shopping to finish up this afternoon. I am going to see what looks good at the store.

Do you enjoy birthday parties or are you like me and want to forget them?

  1. I freaked more at forty than fifty. I hope not even to notice sixty. Good to keep the party low key and low stress like you did. I’m so not the party girl.

Oh, I turned 50 in January, so my sympathies, lol. I confess, I am kind of over birthdays at this point! I might start heading back in the other direction.

  3. Sounds like my kind of party. Easy, simple and low stress so that even the hostess can have a good time. Enjoy.

  6. It’s great to celebrate with friends what ever the occasion. Swim??? BBQ? Wish we could do that here but there’s that pesky snow on the ground.

Age is just a number, and it’s nice to have everyone together. Keeping it simple while still honoring him is great. Let him know it’s a celebration of his life and all he means to so many people.

  8. Here’s wishing your husband a very happy birthday! And I hope you have a good time at the party, too. For me, birthday celebrations are a thing of the past, not because I don’t want to admit my age, but because I just can’t bear the attention; sometimes I think I’d be happiest if I could just fade away.
