Relieve Stuffy Noses & Coughs with Dr. Cocoa Children’s Cough Syrup

Relieve Stuffy Noses & Coughs with Dr. Cocoa Children's Cough SyrupDuring the late Fall, Winter and early Spring season my daughter is often sick. She attends school and it seems that parents these days love to send their children to school sick. This does nothing but keep the vicious “germs” cycle going around over & over until each child has been sick several times.

Giving Gia over-the-counter medications isn’t an easy task. While she doesn’t hate the medicine, she does hate the nasty taste and often times, I am often forced to bribe her to take it.

Well, that was until I was introduced to Dr. Cocoa and their line of cough and cold medicines for children. Here is some additional information.

Dr. Cocoa, the first-ever line of patented over-the-counter cough and cold medicines formulated with trusted, effective ingredients and 10% real cocoa for real chocolate taste.

Dye-, alcohol- and gluten-free, the new Dr. Cocoa line is available in three formulas that combine trusted, effective ingredients with 10% real cocoa for a real chocolate flavor:

· Dr. Cocoa for Children Long-Acting Cough Relief is for the non-drowsy, temporary relief of coughing due to minor throat and bronchial irritations as may occur with a cold. Intended for use in children ages 4 -13

· Dr. Cocoa for Children Daytime Cough+Cold Relief is for the non-drowsy, temporary relief of cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation as may occur with a cold, along with nasal congestion. Indicated for use in children ages 4-13; use in children under the age of 6 should be on the advice of a doctor.

· Dr. Cocoa for Children Nighttime Cough+Cold Relief temporarily relieves sneezing, itchy nose or throat, cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation as may occur with a cold, nasal congestion, runny nose, and itchy, watery eyes, while helping your child to rest. Intended for use in children ages 6-13.

My Thoughts: Gia had a bad cold last month and lucky for me, I had Dr. Cocoa on hand. During the daytime I gave her the Daytime Cough+Cold and surprisingly, I didn’t have to fight her or bribe her to get it into her. Matter of fact, she liked the taste! It did a really good job of controlling her cough and relieving her stuffy nose.

During the evening I used the Dr. Cocoa for Children Nighttime Cough+Cold Relief to help her sleep better when she was suffering with that nasty cold. It has a little bit of “sleepy” medicine in it (an antihistamine) so you only want to use this one at night. Again, it did a great job at controlling her cough and relieving her nasal congestion.

I haven’t had a chance yet to use the third variety that we received for this review but I am sure it will work just as fine as the first two that we tried. It is nice to know that I have these in my medicine cabinet for when the need arises.

Dr. Cocoa for Children is available online at drugstore.com and available on shelves at all major food, drug, and mass merchant retailers nationwide.

I don’t know why other companies haven’t tried a chocolate flavoring. It will make any medicine taste better.

  2. What a good idea to use a chocolate flavoring. Cherry flavor and grape too are the usual options that not all kids like.
