Blueprint for a Wheelchair Accessible Home – INFOGRAPHIC

Seven years ago my husband and I became caretakers to a loved one who was in her senior years. At the time, we couldn’t move her in with us as our home was not wheelchair accessible and we couldn’t make any modifications like that to our home.

Instead, we modified her home with the help of some professionals and then took turns taking care of her in her own home until she got so ill that she needed 24 hour care in a nursing home. Because we did all of that, we got her 6 extra years living in the home that she loved.

When planning for aging at home, one of the most important factors to consider is whether or not your home is wheelchair accessible. Trust me, it is something you all need to think about and think about now.

Take a look at this Blueprint for a Wheelchair Accessible Home – Infographic as it really explains a lot and will help you to decide.

This is an infographic that I shall have to keep . It is becoming very difficult for my husband to access many things in our home and that is one of the reasons that we shall probably be moving in the spring.
