I am sure that I am not the only one that does not like mopping floors. It is a chore that is a back breaker, literally, so I am always looking for an easy to use product that will make my life simpler and protect my aching back. Hauling mop buckets around is just not for me any more! Thankfully, help is here with a new product I was able to review from O-Cedar.
The newly updated and improved O-Cedar ProMist Microfiber Spray Mop is an easy to use mop available at Wal-Mart, Target and Amazon. The ProMist uses two types of reusable microfiber pads: a durable pad which can be washed up to 100 times and a semi-disposable pad that can be washed or tossed—great for messy spills! The mop has a refillable bottle that allows you the choice to use your favorite cleaning solution or water only, making it safer for kids and pet owners.
This unit is simple to use and I love the fact that no mop bucket is needed! To use this, simply remove the little tank that is connected to the stick and fill it with hot water. Then add 2 teaspoons of your favorite cleaning solution, mix it up a few times and reattach to the stick. It clicks right in. There is a squirt handle on the stick that you can depress to apply as much solution to your floor as needed. So a few sprays on the floor and you are mopping! Sweet! The reusable microfiber pad is attached with velcro so it can be removed in a flash for washing and poof, my floors were done. I did not get the semi-disposible pad with my mop, but they do offer both of the refills on Amazon and wherever the mop is sold. You can use the refill finder on the O-Cedar website too.
I really loved the moveable head on this mop. It made getting behind the toilet and into corners pretty easy. Plus the pad was slightly larger than the head so you have cleaning area up against walls and baseboards. The moveable head also made it easy to get underneath things too. Made mopping the floor a fast job! Plus, since the floor was not sopping wet, it dried quickly too!
Clean up is a breeze with this too. I just emptied the tank and rinsed it out, allowing it to dry out before storing it away. I also emptied the spray reservoir on the stick into the sink as it had collected residual liquid, but that was it. And it was comfortable to use, too, with the nice padded grip for your guiding hand. You can even get a bit of scrub going on, when needed.
This mop worked great on my tile floors in the bathrooms and laundry area and I love that is is so easy to use. It is great for quick spills in the kitchen too. I can even use it with just a bit of hot water on my wood floors without worry because it will not make them soaking wet like a regular mop can. Plus I can control how much liquid comes out and the floors dry quickly. I can then follow up with my cleaning spray and wax, as needed. This is going to be a time saver for sure.
For me, this mop is just what I was looking for! I honestly have to say, now I do not dread mopping the floors – as much any way! The O-Cedar ProMist Microfiber Spray Mop took the headache and back ache out my mopping for me.

Thanks for the giveaway…our kids spilled a gallon of milk once & proceeded to use the mop /bucket/wringer to mop it up…without using any water & soap; they then put the mop in the laundry room closet where it fermented for a week ! A microfiber spray mop would have been less of a “clean-up” mess.

I don’t really have a nightmare mopping story but reading some of these comments has me scared! lol I have wood floors in my apartment kitchen and bathroom (yes, the bathroom) and I don’t even own a map… winning this would really help a girl out! This is going to sound incredibly disturbing, but once when I was in college, I was mopping our kitchen and knocked over a pot that had been there for WHO KNOWS how long…it was filled with maggots and mold, and anything else you can think of that’s rancid and terrible. I called my mom from my apartment crying my eyes out!!!!
mopping is hard to get done in our house. the water has been spilled by the dog and that was a disaster.
I once spilled dirty mop water in the kitchen and it got all the way to our living room carpeting. Please no more dirty water buckets!

I don’t have a horror story really. I have a bad back and knees and I would use the swiffer, but it really doesn’t clean it as well as I would like. With this, I can wash the pads and not throw away and I could use hotter water to really clean the floor. I love this!

It was all over my kitchen floor and when I tried to mop it just smeared every where and I had to keep getting fresh mop water!! No I didn’t get it cleaned in time! I was horrified!!! My nephew dropped a root beer float and it went everywhere. I mopped twice and the floor was still sticky. His next root beer float will be in a sippy cup

My husband drinks about 40 cups of decaf coffee every day (sort of an exaggeration, but not much of one). the area of the floor around his coffee station always has drips on it, but I don’t want to drag out the big mop equipment for that. This spray mop thing would be perfect!

We have a labrador, a fox hound, a chiuaua, and two “foxadors” (the offspring of the lab and hound), as well as two cats, 4 kids, me, and my husband…..so to say we have a constantly dirty household is an understatement. This mop would be another thing we could use to help tidy this place up on a daily basis.
i don’t really have any nightmares, just I have hardwood floors and when i mop, I always leave streaks from the water on the wood and it is obvious and makes the house look dirty, so i have to mop three or four times before i get it right.

I scrub my floor on my hands and knees and use a basic mop and bucket system for in betweens. The nightmare is keeping the floors clean alone. Six pets make it hard to keep clean, especially when it’s so time consuming. I hate having to clean the floor. The O-Cedar ProMist Microfiber Spray Mop would make it much easier to keep up on. My nightmare mopping story is when hamburger grease got spilled on my kitchen floor, I had to mop about 5 times before it was clean.

My kitchen and both bathrooms have a really light colored tile and it shows all the dirt and the three kiddos and hubby make a lot of dirt
Very old linoleum and two dogs make my mopping nightmare.
It seems as if every time I get the bucket and mop ready to go one of my kids or pets will find a way to spill it all over the floor making a bigger mess than what I started with.
I love that I can mop without needing a bucket so I only have to clean the mess that I started with.

My nightmare story starts with the installation of my wood floors. I just love them. I wanted to keep them shiny. So, I went out and bought a cleaner with a little wax in it. Did I mention I have dark floors? No? Ok, the floors are dark and they pick up every speck of dust (which is annoying, but I still love them). So, I use this wax….and it turned my floors white. It had a white film everywhere I looked. I freaked out. I had a panic attack (for real, I am on meds to control them, but this sent me over the edge). Finally, after 2 weeks of constant cleaning it faded away. Never EVER use wax on dark floors….like EVER!
My mopping nightmare is accidents our dog has in the kitchen, this mop would help so much with that.
We live in a 2 story townhome, and having to carry a mop and mop bucket up and down the stairs is a pain in the you-know-what! THIS would be a perfect solution to that problem!

Mopping for me has always been a nightmare for me. I have extreme neck and back pain from a car accident so this mop would help so I wouldn’t have to constantly bend over to ring out the mop. I have also accidentally spilled the bucket of water while mopping.

My nightmare story is the bathroom floor. My washer and dryer are right outside in the hallway and it seems that lint gets behind the door. My dryer has a poor lint filter design and when you open the door lint flies out. It’s a real pain. This would be great for that.

On Thanksgiving 2 years ago, while cleaning up after the feast I left the room to put something away and my dog got a hold of the turkey that was on the table, the whole turkey pretty much. I knew he was going to be sick so I put him in the bathroom because it is tiled in there. For the next two days he had the worst explosive diarrhea, I thought he was going to die. I cleaned up as much as I could with paper towels but I had to mop the floor I don’t even know how many times. Needless to say my dogs are now kenneled during holiday get togethers until everything is over!
I love these mops, but I’m so lazy that carrying it upstairs to do the bathrooms is a chore. It would be great to have one upstairs! No excuses!

We have hardwood floors, laminate, and some kind of weird fake wood floors that I don’t even know! I would love to have this since I have to be really careful with the wood and the unknown fake wood floors.
my 2 yr old girl wants to help mommy. she sees that I finished mopping and decides to place the mop in the bucket to mop as well. Well all that water went everywhere and I had to do double the cleaning. This would help me so much with cleaning.

I was mopping my kitchen and entryway floor when one of my cats got scared of the mop, he suddenly jumped and ran sideways, flipped the litterbox, scared himself even more, ran the other way into the food and water bowl stand knocking that around and finally during his escape from the mop he tipped over the mop bucket. It was like Gilligan’s Island of mopping: a 30 minute job turned into 3+ hours.
I remember when a bottle of syrup broke (before plastic ones) and it was sticky for ages.

My nightmare story is just that I had finished mopping when my daughter came into the kitchen and broke an entire bottle of steak sauce. It was everywhere! This mop would have made clean up a breeze!
The string mop I have slops around more dirt than it picks up, smells terrible, as well.

I have one of these mops and well, I used to have one. My daughter took it with her and now my horror story revolves around not having my promist to clean the floor. And the kitchen floor is prone to get dirty when ever anyone walks thru.

I don’t really have a mopping nightmare story but I could sure use this mop. I used to mop my floors on my hands and knees with a rag rather than a mop. But it’s just too difficult for me now to do that and mops are too hard to wring out. So this would ensure a clean floor while standing up!

My Living Room and Hallway are hardwood, Kitchen and Bathroom are vinyl. You open my front door, and you are on hardwood. We live in the North, Lots of salt and snow. It makes a mess out of my floors. I need help, with a mop that I can clean the pads, I can go thru 5-7 at one cleaning. We have 3 cats, and we need to keep the floors free of salt for them, especially since one is a baby. I wold love this mop.
My moppping niightmare is 6 cats 1 dog and a messy husband. From the kitchen dining room and bathroom they all seem to make messes. The bathroom is probably the worst. Hubby has old friends over every Monday for cards and not a darn one of them can hit the toilet accurately. TMI huh?

Mopping…there’s the kitchen where we seem to constantly track things in from outside or beautiful wet foot prints from coming in from the pool. There’s the downstairs where my husband comes in and removes his shoes from working on the cars. And last the bathroom with the white floor and grout that never looks clean.
I lost my previous comment somehow so posting again. I’m constantly cleaning the kitchen floor and counter tops for the powdered drink mix that somehow ends up everywhere. I think the air carries it and it makes a nice red mess when wet. I might have to give it up but for now a nice mop would really help minimize the mess.
