Beautiful Views from Mt Diablo in California

I was happy to be able to spend some time with my best friend a few weeks ago when I stayed the weekend in the Walnut Creek area of California. Visiting my old home and stomping grounds that kept me busy for more than 15 years is a pleasure for me. I love to go and visit as often as I can as I miss living there so much. We took a few hours to just goof off and decided to drive to the top of Mt. Diablo, a 3500′ peak in middle of the area. You can see the entire Bay Area from this peak and my friend had never been to the top and he has lived here most of his life!

The day was hazy, as typical for summer, and this shot shows many of the towns below. This is the Concord/Walnut Creek side and gives views to the Susiun Bay with Benicia to the north of the water. On a clear day you can see all the way to San Francisco and beyond and all of the bridges too. Just a little flash of California for you today.

  3. I like being on a high place and looking down. I’m glad Colorado doesn’t have that fuzzy California haze.

  4. Wow what a pretty picture. It looks like it was taken from an airplane you were so high up. Glad to hear you had such a great time with your best friend. Thanks for sharing and have a great rest of the week.
