Family Game Night – Diggity Dogs Game

diggity dogs game by Educational InsightsWe are very fortunate that we get to see our little 5 year old grand daughter several times a week. Every time she comes over you will find us playing some type of game, watching a movie with her or some other type of bonding activity.

When it comes to finding great educational toys and games to play with the Princess one of my favorite companies is Educational Insights. They have a large variety of products for every age group and at every price point.

Recently the company sent us the Diggity Dogs Game to review for all of you so we immediately planned a fun family game night complete with pizza and popcorn! The game is for ages 5 and up and for 2-4 players.

Game Synopsis: You’re in charge of a pack of pooches and they all have different needs! Collect the cards that perfectly match a dog’s needs and the dog is yours. Adopt the most doggies and you win the game! Simple and Easy!

How to Play: Ask another player for a specific card or draw a card from the deck. Collect 3 cards that match the three things a dog needs, and you get to adopt the dog. Continue play until all pets are adopted. Count your pouches and the player with the most dogs is the winner.

My Thoughts: I first want to state this…if you are looking for small & compact games that travel well, this game is perfect because it comes in a small storage box and doesn’t take up very much room. Perfect for traveling this summer or for a sleepover at grandma’s house.

This card game is a lot like “go fish” but with a doggy theme! I love that the cards are over-sized and have little plastic stands which help them to stand upright. Because of the size, they are perfect for little hands and for old people like me who have eyesight problems! LOL

We sat down to play this game with the Princess and she immediately well in-love with it. We each took turns until all of the dogs were adopted and then counted them up to see who was the winner. The first time we played, I won but the next two times the Princess won.

Since receiving this game, we have played it at least 15 times and each time it gets better and better. Its a great little game to help children learn their matching and counting skills while having fun doing it! Yay! We give it a big 2-thumbs up!

You can purchase the Educational Insights Diggity Dogs Game directly from Amazon for an affordable price! I think this game makes a great gift for any child on your gift-giving list.
