The Princess – Selfie

The Princess - SelfieMy little grand daughter is such a ham and loves to be in front of the camera. Matter of fact, she will often pick up a cell phone, iPad or camera and take selfies which drives me nuts!

I have to admit…she is a cutie pie and she is photogenic, but the kid loves to be in front of the camera way too much! I think it all started with me and the reviews I have been doing for almost 5 years. She is often times my model for kid’s clothing and kid’s toys.

This kid has never been shy! She is truly the life of every party!!! She is no shrinking violet, that is for sure!

Well there you have it, my “almost” wordless Wednesday post for this week! Do your kids like to take selfies?

All kids seem to make that face, even if it is not for a selfie. While you are trying to take a photo the child would goof around and this is one of the most common faces I have seen made. You re right that she probably got more used to it by modeling the items for your reviews. I think it is good that she displays such confidence.

  2. That picture made me laugh!
Like Sandy Cain, I’m from the days of expensive film, when getting a picture taken was a big deal. It sure is different for this generation! They’re so used to seeing their own images, both in still photos and in videos, that it’s more than commonplace for them, it’s just part of everyday living. I sometimes wonder what difference it will make for their self-image as they go through life.
But how can I get all serious when looking at that cute face! Thanks for sharing.

Selfies and photos when they want are often the case. Take one with siblings or other family members…they don’t find as appealing. How cute she is and how fun that she loves to be in photos. All these selfies and photos will be great memories. My daughter is grown and loves photography. She is always looking for a subject, but it seems like grown-ups don’t typically want their photos taken.

LOL! My granddaughter makes the same faces (at least that’s what I see on my daughter’s FB page!). It must be the age and the selfie thing – I sure don’t see any pix in the family albums of any of us kids making faces like that back in the day. I guess when you had to wait a week for the film to be developed (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth), you didn’t get the instant gratification of looking so silly!

Ah! My 13 year-old niece is the same way – seems like all of her Instagram pics are selfies! However, I did my own first-time selfie last week now that I have my first selfie-able gadget. Turned out pretty good but I haven’t posted it anywhere!

  6. Cutie! Not a big fan of selfies but fun to look at others. Maybe not so much Miley tongue pics for me. I do like to see kids modeling their little outfits though.
