Today I would like to introduce you to the gourmet food company called Sunrise Specialty Foods based out of the great state Pennsylvania, my home state! The company has been in business for over 20+ years and offers nationwide shipping and they deliver close to 500 homes in the Pittsburgh, PA. area. The company offers over 100 premium quality food items such as: USDA Prime Beef, Chemical-Free Wild Caught Seafood, Bison, Elk, Free Range Chicken and more! Every item is individually vacuum packed, flash frozen and delivered to your front door. These are all high-quality food products, that just can’t be found in your local neighborhood grocery store. The company offers free shipping on all orders over $200.00, so fill up that freezer and save! Everything comes nicely shipped in a cooler with lots of dry ice to keep them frozen. The company sent me a box of their Jumbo Shrimp to try out for all of you and we decided to cook up the jumbo shrimp and make some delicious homemade Shrimp Scampi. Here is the recipe.
- 3 oz. cooked and drained spaghetti noodles
- 1/2 small clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 8 large cooked shrimps, peels removed
- In a large frying pan or wok over medium heat, melt together the minced garlic, butter, extra-virgin olive oil and lemon juice. Once mixture is hot, stir in the shrimp, coating it well in the mixture. Simmer on low for 2 minutes, remove. Let stand for 3 to 4 minutes and then toss the cooked and drained spaghetti noodles into the shrimp mixture. Serve immediately.
Final Thoughts – We have gotten mail-order seafood before from other companies and were never pleased with it. We are very picky seafood & fish eaters so I was excited to get the Jumbo Shrimp. It comes beautifully packaged and frozen solid with dry ice in a cooler. Nothing to worry about there. You can cook up your shrimp any way that you would like and you can enjoy it plain or add it into your favorite recipe, like we did. We really loved the size of these shrimps (definitely JUMBO) and that they come peeled. All you have to do is remove the tails after the cooking process which is a huge time saver for sure! For the first time, we have finally found a company that delivers quality seafood to your front door! We hope you enjoyed the recipe and please head on over to Sunrise Specialty Foods and do your shopping there! Quality products at affordable prices!

Oh yes, I pinned this. I like this better than my usual scampi recipe.
Glad this company is so close to where I live, will definitely have to chevk them out. Thanks!
The only seafood my husband enjoys is shrimp and one of his favorites is scampi! I wish we lived closer to the ocean we would eat it more often. I make scampi for his birthday!
Oh, I used to make this for my dear mother when she was living with us. She loved it, and so did I. It’s been years since I’ve made it. Thanks for the reminder of how it’s done–scampi is indeed quick and easy when you’ve got good ingredients. Might be time for me to do it again!
I’ve never had shrimp scampi – but that is about to change! I didn’t realize how easy it is to make! And I love shrimp, but rarely have them. I know they can have great sales on shrimp, and this is exactly what I want to make for company, my guests will feel pampered and I’ll be relieved it wasn’t that hard!
It is really quick and easy to make. We make ours at home because it is just as good as what they serve in restaurants and we didn’t have to pay $25 + per plate.
I love this recipe, and am going to make it for my Dad and sister! We love Shrimp Scampi and this is an easy recipe to make. All I need is some shrimp. Thanks for sharing.
This is a favorite dish of mine. And its easy to prepare!
OMG – shrimp scampi is a major food group! And those shrimps sure look plump and meaty. I have a soft spot in my heart for the Keystone State – though I never heard of Sunrise Specialty Foods before, I may have order REAL soon. That picture has me drooling! LOL!
I love shrimp scampi. 20 min total prep time is quick for a good meal like this. Going to try this one!
That does look like a quick and easy recipe. I haven’t made shrimp scampi in a long time. It’s so hot here most of the time I tend to avoid frozen things. Can’t beat to the door delivery though.
Sunrise Specialty foods really does sound like a great company. I love jumbo shrimp and to have them already prepared is a big plus. Shrimp scampi is another classic recipe that I occasionally make.
