GE Reveal Halogen Bulbs Brighten Your Life

My office is located in a small bedroom that I took over once I started working from home. The lighting in this room has always been terrible. It has one ceiling light that burns out often – mainly because I have the light on for 10-12 hours a day. Plus I have a desk lamp that is above my monitor to throw some additional light on the screen. My eyes have been bad since I was 10 and by the end of the afternoon,. I have one eye closed and I am squinting to see the screen. This is definitely a poor situation for me. When GE asked if I would compare my current light bulbs to the new Reveal bulbs, I could not wait for them to get here!

GE Reveal bulbs are the new energy efficient bulbs that are taking the place of traditional bulbs. I have to say, I am not a fan about losing my old style bulbs because I need the bright lights in of office so much. I am not fond at all with the twisty style bulbs because they are so dim to me. I knew my office was the perfect place to compare what I was working with VS. the new Reveal bulbs.

The GE Reveal bulbs that I reviewed are the 75W halogen replacements but they only use 53W of energy. I love that these are a traditional style bulb and not that twisty style. I took a before and after that is shown here. I know why my eyes are always aching now! Look at the difference from the before and the yellowy cast light to the white light from the Reveal bulbs. WOW! I have to say, after I had my son replace the bulbs and I turned on the switch, I shouted out loud – I have light! I have light! LOL I am so excited with the difference. I know that it will help my eyes from aching so much and hopefully reduce the squinting too.

I am sold on these bulbs and I am thrilled to have found a bright light that will really help light my office and home they way it should be. I have placed the other bulbs in my favorite reading lamp in the living room so that when I am tearing up a book, I will have beautiful bright light going on in there as well!

    I’d love these – we just bought a fixer upper (words on the walls; lighting fixtures hanging from the ceiling, etc.) that my husband is working on as we speak! I can’t help much because I’m two weeks from giving birth to our first baby – sooo many exciting changes!

    Honestly – ALL of our rooms are in dire need of a makeover – starting with the light fixtures / lamps / lighting. (As I’ve gotten older my vision/sight isn’t what it used to be – and I really need better lighting SO I CAN SEE!

    I’m tempted to say the LIVING room first – but I’d have to go with our home office because I work in there a lot and I’m beginning to think I’m going to go blind! Thanks!

    Thanks for the review. There are so many types of new lightbulbs out there now it is hard to know which to get. I just want something like the old ones that don’t take 5 minutes to turn on.

    I’ve suffered pretty much the same anguishes and aggravations as you in my home office – and I have to agree that the Reveal Halogen bulbs really make a POSITIVE difference.
