Old El Paso Stand N Stuff and Mexican Cooking Sauces

Family taco night is a tradition at our dinner table. And now it just got a bit easier! I was excited to be able to try our several of the new products from Old El Paso; a name famous for flavorful and tasty Mexican foods products.

Introducing Stand ‘N Stuff® Soft Flour Tortillas and Mexican Cooking Sauces – two new products from Old El Paso® that add fun, versatility and convenience to your dinner routine.

Old El Paso
The New Mexican Cooking Sauces from Old El Paso bring you complex Mexican flavor that would take days to make from scratch, delivered simply via roasted vegetables and traditional Mexican spices. These versatile cooking sauces taste great with your favorite meats or veggies, and are perfect for traditional Mexican meals or for adding a Mexican flare to other recipes. They come in a pouch in 3 flavors – Chipotle, Roasted Tomato, Chile & Roasted Garlic.

I am used to making my own taco sauces so I was interested in trying out these new products. So a Taco Dinner was in order! One thing I did was not do was read the package until I had already browned the hamburger. Low and behold – these sauces are recommended for Chicken! But, once I read the ingredients on the Roasted Tomato package, I knew it would be fine. So I opened the package and mixed it in with the meat and let it come together for a few minutes.

Meanwhile, I got the Stand ‘N Stuff® Tortillas from Old El Paso ready. These are cool! They come in a tub and I was really not sure what to expect, but the tortilla is formed into a little boat. They are made from the small taco sized flour tortillas so you are making soft tacos. You simply remove them from the tub and place them on a plate or paper towel and warm them for a few seconds in the microwave. They are so easy to fill, hold, and eat that anyone from pint size kiddos to adults can enjoy a taco without a mess. Crunchy tacos are my fav, but after trying these cute boat tacos, I might be changing my mind.

The flavor from the sauce mixed with the hamburger meat was awesome. I was expecting a bit of a sweet sauce, as you tend to get that a lot with packaged sauces. Not so with this one. There was a tiny, tiny bit of heat, but overall if was extremely mild in flavor. I made mine with additional hot sauce, sour cream, and cheese that day. Even thought it said use chicken, it was great with the hamburger. The other 2 packages also recommend chicken – one is for fajitas and the other burritos, so next time I will try them made that way. But I was not disappointed at all!

If you are looking so something new and different to spice up your taco night at your next family dinner, check out the Old El Paso® Stand ‘N Stuff® Soft Flour Tortillas and Mexican Cooking Sauces – the 2 newest additions to the Old El Paso® line of Mexican foods! I think you may enjoy these too.
