Family Game Night: The Original Reverse Charades Game

The Original Reverse Charades Game

Two Classy Chics 2012 Holiday Gift Guide!

My family loves to play games and at least once every two weeks or so, we plan a big family game night! We have been holding these family game nights for over 20 years now, and even though our daughter has moved out…she still returns for our family game nights.

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Sedarahc and asked if I would like to review The Original Reverse Charades Game, Sports Edition for all of you. Believe it or not, we have never played Charades before, so we were super excited to give it a try.

We all are big sports fans, so we selected the Sports Edition. The game is for 6+ players, ages 6 and up. It’s a great game to play on family game night or during your sport’s theme parties (like Superbowl halftime or while tailgating!).

The game comes nicely packaged and is very compact in size. You could take it with you while traveling, camping, tailgating, etc. Inside the little box are 220 word cards plus instructions.

We invited the family over last weekend for pizza, drinks and a game of Reverse Charades. I spent 5 minutes reading all of the instructions to them and then we got busy playing the game. To play the game, you split into teams of three or more. We divided into two teams of four. We decided to play 12 rounds in our game but you can certainly set it up by rounds or by points.

1 word guessed correctly, earns the team 1 point and each team only has one minute to guess as many words as possible during the round. If the acting team doesn’t like a word, they can pass, but only one pass per round. Each team selects a guesser (everyone gets a turn guessing) and the rest of the team acts out the words. The other team holds the word cards for only the actors to see and flips the enclosed timer. (we didn’t get a timer since ours was an add-on pack, so we pulled a one minute timer from another game that we had). The Original Reverse Charades Game

You lose a point if you speak or mouth any words to each other or to the guesser. Use of objects or other people in the room is permitted. Tally up the points in each round on a piece of paper or scorepad. The first team to the target wins (highest point score during your predetermined rounds of play).

The cards are heavy duty and a nice quality as you can see in my photo. There are many different sports and sport’s personalities covered in this Original Reverse Charades Game. We spent about 90 minutes playing the game and had a great time. If you are knowledgeable in sports, this would be a great add-on pack (game) for you. If not, I would suggest selecting a different Reverse Charades game pack to play.
