Vacation is Just Around the Corner! Beach…Here I Come!

Shelly at the Beach in Wildwood New Jersey

This past summer has been an extremely busy summer for us and along with all of that…stress! As you all know, we purchased an old home and have been gutting it and remodeling it. We have spent every weekend and all of our spare time over at that house since the second week in May. There has ONLY been one weekend that we skipped working over there and that was the weekend in early June when we were away on vacation.

Well guess what? Our next vacation officially starts on Friday at noon time! I have been counting down the weeks and then the days since the second week in June. I know…we are very fortunate that we can go to the beach a few times a year and thankfully, we only live 3 1/2 short hours from the Atlantic Coast.

This vacation will be our last major vacation until March of 2013. We do have a weekend getaway planned for the first weekend in November, but really…this is our last one until next year.

I am really looking forward to blowing this popsicle stand for 10 days and getting away from the “home remodeling” and family stressers that have been going on all summer long. I look forward to spending some great quality time with my husband which has been sorely lacking all summer long.

Usually I pack in advance…2 to 3 weeks in advance since I have to tote a lot of stuff with me (medical patient) but this time around…last minute seems to be on my to-do list. I haven’t started a thing yet! blah!

The great thing is…I have 2 adults (family members) who will be staying at our house while we are gone and taking care of our pets & our property. Yeah! I hope “they” don’t make a mess for me while we are gone!

Do any of you have any end of summer vacations planned? Anything fun & exciting on the to-do list before old-man winter sets in? If so, what?

  1. I hope you have that special time and you and your husband just relax and enjoy doing nothing but vacationing. 🙂 You guys deserve it because gutting and remodeling can wear you down. No special plans for end of summer.

  3. Have a wonderful time! (can I stow away please?) No plans here hubby is a carpenter it is his busy season and I do rescue and it seems I have had animal after animal all summer long. To be that close to a beach would be heavenly.

I hope you all enjoy every second of it, and having folks to take care of the house & animals will let you relax more!
