Octavin Home Wine Bar Osborne Seven Spanish Red Wine Review

octavin home wine barI love to sit down in the evenings and enjoy a glass of wine now and then especially when I have had a long day and I want to just relax! My wine of choice is normally always white. The reds that I have had many times where just too dry for me to enjoy and some even gave me headaches so I stuck to whites. Now that I have had the chance to review a few red wines, my eyes and taste buds have been opened to the difference in the flavors.

I have had the chance to review a wine from Octavin Home Wine Bar before. You remember them; the ones with the neat wine box and the great concept in wine. Artisan Wine in a Box! Here is a quick reminder.

Octavin Home Wine Bar - Seven

OctavinHomeWineBar is the site to find this cool line of wine in a box known as Octavin. Octavin has created a unique item for housing our favorite wines. It is a fresh approach to artisan wine. Octavin Home Wine Bar’s patented Premium Wine Cask (PWC) package design prevents oxidation. This unique package design ensures that every glass tastes as fresh and flavorful as the first glass when it was opened and it will be fresh for up to six weeks in the cask. It’s the perfect choice for those interested in just one glass with dinner.

You all know that Wine in a Box is decent table wine and works great for cooking and such but it is not normally the top quality wines that you would associate with a small vintner or artisan wine company…. That is until now. This wine cask allows the interior bag to be sealed air tight so you can purchase superior quality wine in bulk and enjoy it longer than buying one bottle at a time.

Octavin Home Wine Bar’s PWC innovative design also allows them to invest in making great wine, not expensive packaging. By eliminating heavy glass and expensive cork and closures, the cost of packaging and shipping is reduced and those savings to you are passed on to you. While each PWC contains the equivalent of four standard bottles of distinctive artisan wine, you often end up paying the price of just three bottles. That’s a nice savings!

The wine I want to tell you about today is from Artisan winemaker Rocio Osborne. He has selected seven indigenous and global varietals, led by native Spanish Tempranillo grape, to create an energetic, engaging red wine blend that reflects the passion and excitement of modern wines from “New” Spain. This Bodegas Osborne wine delivers rich, intense flavors that linger on the palate. The name of the wine is called Seven Red Wine of Spain and it is a delight!

The taste is light and very smooth! Blending the grapes has brought out the best in each. There is no harsh finish at all and you get a wonderful mouthful of fruit flavor, like cherry and berry. There is not a lot of oak or wood taste, which I have found makes it very enjoyable for me. I do not care for the heavy wood cask flavors. Seven is a perfect wine for a sipping any time and pairing it with wonderful foods of all types.

I am shocked that I love this wine! So is my hubby as he enjoys a red now and then, I have never been a red wine drinker but this is one I would love to keep in my home anytime and not have to worry about whether it is spoiling being left in a open container. I am in love with the packaging the Octavin offers. It is unique and smart. Saving money on artisan wine is a fabulous idea and who wouldn’t love it? The packaging doesn’t make a wine great, the grape and vintner does. I am loving this selection of Rocio Osborne’s Seven from Octavin. It has a wonderful flavor and I cannot get over how smooth it is for a red wine! And for an amazing price of around $22 for 3 liters, I can afford to keep this at home ready to enjoy at any time!
