Two Classy Chics

Today I would like to introduce you to the company called Educational Insights based out of Southern California. Educational Insights is the manufacturer of playful products with serious educational value, including subject-specific classroom products, teacher resources, educational toys, and games. Their products are designed by seasoned educators & parents who know that children love to learn when you make that learning experience fun!

When you visit the Educational Insights online web site you will find that it’s really easy to navigate. The web site has three tabbed categories which are the sections for Parents, Teachers and Classroom Jeopardy. Since I am a mother and grandmother…I could spend hours just browsing around their parent’s section of the web site.

My Review: The great folks over at Educational Insights sent us the new “Nowhere To Go” strategy game for us to review. This game is for ages 8 to adult and for 2 players. This is a game where you try to “trap” your opponent in a step-by-step strategy game for two! It includes the hexagonal game board, 2 playing pieces and 40 blocking pieces and comes nicely packaged in a reusable storage box.

To Play: Each player simply takes a turn at trying to block the path of his opponent by placing blocking game pieces onto the board. It can be tricky at times because you will also have to cross a few bridges. The game continues until one player has “Nowhere To Go” on the game board.

My husband had our 2 nephews over to our home for a “boys game night” and he sat down to play the game with each of them. He spent about 5 minutes reading the game instructions to them and then they got busy playing the game. It took about 30 minutes for each game to conclude and what we really loved about this game is that it made the “boys” think about each and every move they were going to make. Sort of like a game of chess! After he played a round with each boy…they then played one another and had a total blast with this game. They loved it so much that they even took it home with them that night! My SIL tells me that the boys play with it all the time and she loves that it keeps them busy and does so in a nice “quiet” way. yeah!!!
