My Review: Today I am reviewing for all of you the Pretend & Play Supermarket set from Learning Resources that made for children ages 3 and up. This wonderful set contains 93 pieces: 1 shopping basket, 1 cotton apron, 1 name tag, 8 grocery items, 1 write & wipe store sign, 40 life-sized plastic coins, 30 play money bills, 1 play credit card, 1 shopping list, 3 coupons, 1 open/closed sign, 1 sale sign, 1 special of the day sign and 3 crayons.
My grand wee-one is 2 1/2 years old so I did have to put the play coins up until she gets a little older but the rest of the items she is fine with at this age. The grocery items are made of cardboard except for the plastic ketchup bottle and you will need to assemble those for your child. Fun grocery items like a pizza & macaroni and cheese are all kids favorites so they are certainly 2 of her favorites in this play set.
Wee one wasn’t too sure what to do with all of the items so I spent a good 10-15 minutes showing her and after that…she was on her own and totally understood how to “play” with her new shopping set. Wee one and her 4 year old friend played for hours with this set the first day she got it and to this day…she plays a lot with it! I love how everything in the play set stores nicely into the shopping basket so when she is done playing with it for the day I simply place all of the pieces into the basket and store it onto her toy shelf. I also love how the grocery pieces are perfectly sized for her little play kitchen too!
