Today, I would like to introduce you to Smart Planet. My Review: I received the Smart Planet Collapsible Silicone Lunch Box in both the large and small size to review for all of you. I have never owned any silicone food storage or cookware, and was very curious to see what these were all about. Now that I have had an opportunity to use these silicone Smart Planet products, I will definitely be looking to add other items to my kitchen stash. These have a collapsible silicone base expands to double the size, then you can push down to collapse and store them at half the size.
These products are meant to be and definitely can be used for lunchboxes, but I didn’t trust my kids to bring them back (oldest has thrown other plastics away at lunch in the past). I work at home, so oftentimes, for my lunch is leftovers from the night before, or earlier in the week. My husband has been known to bring catered leftovers home from work on occasion, and I used the large sized silicone lunchbox to keep them fresh! I was amazed at how much the larger compartment held, and happy that I was able to make single portions for reheating the stuffing. Granted, I did not use these silicone lunchboxes for their intended purpose, but I have found them to be so versatile! I have worked outside of my home, and took my lunch every day.
The smaller Smart Planet Silicone Lunchbox features 1 inside compartment, and the large has 3 (1 larger and 2 smaller) compartments. The larger compartments are the perfect size for a sandwich, or salad, and the smaller two compartments can easily hold fruit, or some other lunch side as well. Both include a reusable spork utensil that stores in the lid. Something else about the lid – it is tight fitting around each of the inside compartments, and “snaps-down” around the sides, making it very secure. They are both microwave, and dishwasher safe as well.
