Today I would like to introduce you to the company called GoPicnic and this company sells ready to eat meals & snacks that are shelf-stable meals and need no refrigeration. This company is absolutely perfect for our Back to School Shopping Bash because the items from this company are perfect for all of those school lunches you will need to pack. In addition, they are perfect for your kids to carry around in their backpacks for after school snacks too.
Our Review: The generous folks over at GoPicnic sent me 2 of their ready to eat meals to review for all of you. First up, the GoPicnic Salami + Cheese Meal which is 370 calories and includes beef salami slices, organic crackers, Asiago cheese spread, fruit & nut mix and an organic dark chocolate sandwich cookie. This complete ready to eat meal in a box costs only $4.99. I placed this item into my hubby’s lunch box along with his juice bottle and off to work he went. Later that evening when he got home he showed me the photo’s he took of himself preparing it for his lunch. He said that everything tasted delicious and he loved the convenience of having it available (unrefrigerated) for whenever he wanted it. He rated the meal 9 out of 10 stars and the only reason he didn’t give it 10 stars was because he would of liked a few more crackers and a little bit more of the fruit & nut mix to fill him up.
Next up is the GoPicnic Peanut Butter + Crackers Meal which is 430 calories and it includes natural peanut butter, organic crackers, unsweetened applesauce, cheddar bunny crackers and gummy bears. I decided to use this one for my grand daughters lunch as she packs a lunch to go to preschool and she is 27 months old with a hefty appetite. I placed this meal kit into her lunch box along with a juice box and sent her to preschool. When she came back home later that day…the only item left was the gummy bears. I asked her if she liked her lunch and she said good nana, good. So…we will give this one a 10 out of 10 stars. You can purchase this meal kit which is currently on sale for only $2.99.
Overall Impression: I think these ready to eat meal kits are absolutely perfect for school lunches as they are well-balanced nutrition and taste fabulous. I love that the calorie and nutrition info is printed right on the box and I appreciate that they don’t need refrigeration. Besides using these for packed school or workplace lunches, they would be great for hikers, campers, travelers and I think you should have several stacked up in your pantry for emergency use (like during storms). We give them 2 thumbs up and recommend these products to you.
